and then packing up after 7 years when it becomes a full on war
Z's are great cars, it makes me tingle when i think of the 315hp m cars.

I love those seats with the red inserts very nice. I got a question did you have the start up squeel from the Fan Bolt? It gets annoying if you dont keep putting some WD-40 on it everynow and then.

I know it sounds weird...but your custom shot looks very nice
But I gotta agree with you, automatic does kills alittle with that car, it really deserves a manual. Anyways..great ride!

I didn't have the squeeling fan belt but the car had very low miles on it when I sold it.
They only put the 6 speed in the Z4 (i think). As for the red/black interior, well you either love it or hate it.
I was VERY tempted to buy the MZ3 instead of the WS6, and sometimes I wish I had, but I wanted a V8, just for the craic.
Thanks for your comments guys, the proof pic was one of the pics I put on Autotrader when I sold the car, I'm not sure if it would have passed the test but I still have my insurance card with the Z3 details on it somewhere

I believe the 2.8is and the 3.0s both had the 6 speed as an option, or maybe it was 6 speed with sport package or something im not sure. But all i know is that i love the Z3, i just got back from a drive. They have the best exhaust note other than a V8.
About the M-Roadster there is one that lives by me too, its the eletric blue color, very nice car, there is also a Z8, which i want to just stroke and play with. If i had a Z8 i dont think i would get out of it.

I thought not having back seats is a problem when dating...if you know what I mean.
How does the T/A drive compared to the Z3?

LOL yeah but I've had my own place for years so not a problem for me!
The T/A feels heavier, (I think 2900lbs vs 3600lbs) but is quicker than the Z3 for sure, even with the extra weight. I was more confident of the Z3's handling, but the chassis design is a few years newer than the T/A (E36 BMW c.1990 vs F-Body redesign c.1982) and less weight = less inertia. Also the Z3 has 50/50 weight distribution and Traction Control (my T/A doesnt have that option installed) which gives a bit more confidence when pushing the limits.
Overall I prefer the T/A, and it's easier to get the back end out, although I 'learnt' to drive RWD in the Z3...without the TCS switched on!!
I'd love a Z06 though, 3300lbs and 405hp...if I win the lotto I'll buy one for sure.

Were either of you with a Z3 3.0i able to cure the fan belt squeal on starting issue? The dealer says its normal and wont do anything about it. It is definitely getting annoying (along with the constantly stolen valve caps).

Mine never did that but I sold it with 19000 miles on it so maybe it hadnt had time to start.
The seat would rock slightly fore and aft a couple of millimetres under hard braking and acceleration (I'm 190lbs so not that heavy BTW) which used to annoy me and the dealer said that was normal and wouldn't do anything about that. One of the reasons why I got rid of the Z3 was poor BMW aftercare here in Texas.
While the Trans Am is nowhere near the BMW in terms of build quality, the level of service I get from my local Pontiac dealer is top line compared to the BMW dealer.
