Well I don't really know the weight of the mini alone some one might have an exact figer but I could estimate with the engine in might get to 1200kg = 1.2 tonne so calculating that with the b18c power which is estimated 185hp .. I multiply 185x1 divide by 1.2 = 154 hp/tonne or 154hp per 1000kg.

1200 kg??? My mini weights 585 kg and it its totally standard!! With 185 hp the power/weight ratio should be 250 hp/tonne or 1/4 hp per kg
It's the first time i've seen a mini with a V-tec put in the back.... But many versions have been made. Two companys in Britain makes a conversion kit with the engine in the front. But like you say, the front then needs to be extended (if it was a clubmann it would fit in). Z-cars makes a kit with a 160 hp Yamaha R1 engine in the back, which should be quite quick... And the even more wild with two R1 engines and 320 hp.... I've read about an turbocharged Hayabusa engine in the back of a mini producing +300 hp (don't remember the exact number). If i have time tomorrow i will scan the artictle (from MiniWorld)

Yes indeed, even with a big V8 a Mini should still be under the ton

hell just drop a small block chevy in the rear and leave it at that, or put 2 bike engines in it one for the front one for the back kind of like a Mini Bimoto. Would a Honda H Six fit in there?

Couldn't it be possible to not extend the front but instead drive from back seats, kinda. I mean to extend in the dash toward the back?!

small blocks n 2 engines, one in the front and one in the bac have been tried n havent been that succesful.

Best bet would be two bike engines in the back with a Z cars conversion.

Either that or take it to holeshot and get a 400bhp turbo charged busa engine in it, but that may be a lil extreme for road driving.

My mates thinking of having a bike engine conversion done n if i had a mini thats the way i'd go as its gives more power than a vtec, is easier to make rear wheel drive and its lighter.

Skyliner: u mean this lil beast?

Indeed thats my main worry about all these bike engine mini's i mean the Z cars conversions i've seen (R1 engined conversion) use 14 inch wheels and putting 400 bhp though such small wheels i would think you'd be wheelspinning till christmas. Also the clutch is always gonna be tricky as in all bike engined cars, so town driving isn't gonna be easy IMO

true 400bhp is a bit too much, but a 160/180bhp engine would be just perfect for road use with a good suspension set up. As for the clutch, i'm sure you'd get used to it

Has you can probably see... if you know how to read, the second fastest car, was a Mini!! And it stayed at front of much powerful cars, such has EVOs, M3, Cosworths, RS... etc etc

I think lots of people underestimate Minis.. but that is about to change!! At least here in Portugal... in a year or two, I believe the Minis will leave the competitors behind in hillclimb competitions!
