I wouldn't want people to think that my Corvette was on par performance wise with a measly 405hp Z06.

I think you're just frustrated about selling your pride and joy. Since RC is in the same pot as you, I can understand why you two are gonna duke it out on the next two or three pages of this thread.

Nah....I'm done.

I don't think this arguement is worth my time...RC.-- I don't think it's worth yours either. I'd like to drop this before it gets any more ratarded than it already has.

Sorry RC...Truce?...for now anyway

^^^That's an aftermarket exhaust ...the standard C5 has two mufflers, one on each side, and after the mufflers the exhaust pipes spilt into two on each side...on this aftermarket exhaust (I think they are Flowmasters) after the muffler there is only one pipe instead of two, I like it, it looks beefier and I bet it sounds a lot better than stock.

The exhaust is a Borla, and it sounds incredible compared to stock.

On another note. I installed a Hurst short throw shifter today. A big improvement over the "tractor" shifter. The shifts are so smooth and crisp, and shifting into 3rd is no longer scary. I installed it in front of Pep Boys, and got a lot of strange looks from people like I was stealing the car or something.

Here's a few pics, click for 1200x1600.

Pep Boys
I hate that place.

Lovely car Daniel, I bet that thing just howls with that exhaust. Any chance of a sound recording?

Wow, great location you picked to shoot pics of the C5 Daniel, that really is a nice C5.

I've always wondered with short-shifters, does the effort for each shift increase a lot, or is it barely noticeable? I have a 'tractor' style shift on my car, and I have been curious about short shifters, but never wanted to pay money, etc to try one.

it was weird shifting it at first, because you need more effort to shift, but after a few miles you get acustomed to it. I bought the Hurst not only because it was a "short" shifter but it made the cruicial 2-3 shift a breeze. With the stock shifter, I would never know if I went into third properly, and that sucked ass especially with spirited driving. Now with the Hurst I just push the shifter straight forward from 2nd gear and the stiff bias springs guide it into 3rd. It's a mod well worth the money, and if you don't want to spend money on a shifter you can also shorten your stock one.
