Default Land Rovers everywhere!

Has anyone else in the USA noticed an explosion in the number of Land Rovers around? It used to be it was fairly uncommon to see them here. But just in the last year or so I swear they are EVERYWHERE!! The strange thing is its not just new Land Rovers I see but many that are 4 and 5+ years old. I have 4 neighbors that all have gotten a Land Rover in the past year and ony 1 of them is new. What happened? Where did they all come from?

Well - it would seem you answered your own question.

If these are 3, 4 or 5 year leases ending then many of those who couldn't afford a new one are simply getting in when they can afford it.

But as has been pointed out, Landies of all types have been around for ages - you just began noticing them is all

No I have noticed them, maybe they are just getting really popular in my area. Like I said I have 4 neighbors that just got one this past year. Plus I live close to our police station and I noticed one of the cops just got a used RR its ugly yellow too, I mean as his personal car. I swear I see more of them now then Cherokees! (well not really but it seems like it)

ANd again you answered your own question - the carsare coming off 2, 3 and 4 year lease - so folks can now buy them cheaper than before.

I am guessing you are not a student of the obvious...

But there are always cars that are coming off 2, 3 and 4 year leases. That does not explain why there would be an increase just in the last year. Unless Land Rovers were definitely not as common before around 2000. Then it would make since.

Id love to pick up a old Range. They are so nice, plus that 4x4 system is a work of art. So is the jeeps but the jeep guzzles gas like no other. 11.8 mpg average is my worst, 14.5 bieng my best.   Damn me and my need to 4x4.

FYI, Range Rover do guzzle lots of gas too, abit better than 11.8 but not by much.
