Thanks for posting Just_me. Two brilliant cars. Can't wait for the new 63 AMG engine to hit the CLS and E-class. Think that will be an even better comparison with the E60 M5.

..And the Merc won the quartermile, 12.7 and 12.9. And actually produces higher Lateral G:s than the M5. Surprised me a little.

Maybe if the CLS had a pulley and ECU upgrade pushing it to 500hp and beyond, it might have a better chance... ?
The braking distance wasn't as good however.

no not really, CLS55 has lower center of gravity and gives you higher G, its the same with M6 it also has lower center of gravity and higher G than M5. Actually I thought CLS would have higher slalomspeed than M5.
if you check the quatermile numbers you see that M5 has higher topend speed than CLS. CLS55 starts quicker than the M5, several M5 and CLS/E55 owners say the same. These two are are almost similar up to 160km/h, the faster they drive the faster is the M5.
When E63 comes it wil accelerate similar to E55 up to about 160km/h but the faster you drive the faster will the E63 be compared to E55.
