Default Dads 1999 Volvo V70R 2.4 AWD 265 -- VIDEO ADDED 30/5 --

Hey guys.

Thought I'd post up Dads car, see what the reaction would be like.
Its a 1999 Volvo V70R 2.4 AWD 265 :

265bhp
258lb fts Torque
Limited to 155mph
1 of 400 made.

This model is the rarest of Volvos made. The 0 - 60 of 6 seconds is achieved due to the 265bhp , produced byt the Mitsubishi high-pressue Turbo.

The car is completely standard, as to keep prices as high as possible, before my Dad hopefully gets an RS6 Avant / Plus.

The car is amazing for long distance journeys; we have driven to the south of France twice, and to Italy once, and the whole time was extremely smooth.

Many people diss Volvos as bein boring and not being succesful when compared to its rivals. . This may be true of the later models, but this has to be the most exciting Volvo model ever created.

Ermmm....not sure what else to say, so ill just post the pics i have, and also a quick vid i took about a year back. I will have many more pics soon, after i buy my new camera.

If anyone wants to know anything, just ask.

Thanks a lot, Rob.

Hey guys,

@ thamar : Im pretty sure it wasnt one of these exact models as they didnt make the 2.4 in grey. They did with the 2.3 however, so probably one of those. Still an impressive car though.

@ gis: Glad you lie it And i think i posted it in my very unsuccesful carsightings thread, so you probably recognise it from there. Just thought i would make a thread dedicated to it, and inform you of any new / pics / vids.

Thanks a lot, Rob.

Very nice car and the I5 cylinder makes a very unique sound.

Although I think you might be a tad optimistic about the 0-60 in 6 sec.

Im not lying about the 0-60. The new R with apparently 300bhp, which i find hard to belive myself, tecnically isnt as fast as this model, as after this they went all soft and didnt take the R range seriously.

Pretty much everyone thinks im lying when i tell them this.
Ill see if my dad can get a video of the speedo doing 0 - 60. Not sure though.

Anyway im going to try and get a custom pic by tonight.

Cheers.

Not only that, the 2.4 has a HPT for Mitusbishi, whereas the 2.3 has a LPT.
I dont need to lie, lol.

Cheers, Rob.

Haha ok, no problem. I get what youre saying.
I may sound defensive cos you wouldnt believe the amount of people who doubt the facts i give, and some dont even think the car is genuine...

Thanks.
