well firstly I think you mean your Manual tranny versus an Automatic Transmission they are both Transmissions your's is actually a Transaxle but anywho... My Tranny has roughly 185K on it so it won't be in there too much longer a properly built one will run me about $1200-1500 but it will never break aslong as I keep the fluid clean and I get a good Trans-cooler. I hope to be running low 12's consistently if not faster considering the weight of the car and the fact that they can barely run in the 14's stock that isn't too bad but once I go all out crazy with it I plan on MUCH quicker times but that will be a while a 12sec car is still fast, faster than some of those "10 second car" ricers around here they all claim they can do it but don't realise how fast 10 seconds really is until they go to the track.

Well today was the day...

I let my baby go after 12 years of ownership I sold her off to a good home (T-bird fan has 2 others) I had a starting problem and the Torque converter was shot. I needed some cash to fix the truck and get out of debt so I felt it was the right choice. But I will be replacing her with something this summer (not sure what) I'll post up a new topic for that.

Hey man it sounds like you made the right choice, getting out of debt is the way to go. What ideas do you have for later?
