Skylines, like Supras, do not come standard with a significant amount of power, but have a lot of potential. There are more than a few with well over 1000 hp. Also, there are some cars that cost less than 30 000 pounds (UK) that do 0-60 in 3.4.

300 plus out of a stock V6 isn't significant? I'd say it's pretty damn good.

The Turbos run low PSI as standard which explains the low bhp figure

Skyline GTR is fast but not faster than those high price tag supercars (zonda, mclaren) of course. The skyline series has a very long history and they won many many championships in Japan. In 199?, a skyline GTR R32 outrun all the cars in a completition in just half a lap, nobody can see its taillight.

The engine RB26DET is very tunable, it can easily be tuned to 1000hp. Of course, Civic can be tuned to 1000 too, but how long can the engine withstand the heat without blowing up?

The AWD system is basically a RWD system with more traction. Thanks to the ETS system. Most of the torque and power goes to the rear wheels on GTR so the balance of the car in the corner is amazing. There are also many electronic gadgets in the GTR.

However, the heavy weight of Skyline is the main disadvantage for the car. Unlike other supercars that have aluminum, carbon fibre bodies.

Anyways, with just a bit money, GTR can be very fast on the road.

I've always thought of the GTR as a sports car like a 911 of a 360. They're definitely not supercars, but they're not touring cars like a true GT. They emphasize balance over overall pace ( = better in my opinion). It could stand to lose some weight though.
