Default Request for Decal Scans....

I have a great idea.

With so many model builders - how about we share scans of the decal sheets that come in the kits before you build em?

I for one would love to have a great variety of car badges etc.

I make my own decals with blank decal sheets and the inkjet printer.

I get great results scanning decal sheets as orignal photos, for printing, original size at 800dpi. This puts the JPG size at between 1.5mb and 8mb, depending on orginal size.

Then I send em through photoshop and resize the individual items (for example Ferrari badges) to the correct mm size of the required scale badge.

Then print em out at 300dpi.

So - anyhow, this will be a great chance for us to greatly enhance our scratchbuilding parts boxes.

So - here are the first 3 contributions - some Z06 badges, some Ferrari F1 badges and seat belts and 1969 Camaro stripes.

TT - if we do this, should we limit to the down load group, or throw it open to everyone?

When I say "Make your own decals".. I really mean it.

I am guessing I will not run out of Ferrari emblems for model cars in a while.

These are printed at 1200dpi on clear decal film with an inkjet printer.

Anyone got some Lamborghini decals they are willing to share? If you don't have a scanner - I will even pick up the 2-way postage cost

It is much easier to simply scan the flat-perspective decals. If the original is taken from a solid-print decal you do not get the moire effect you get from scanning a printed magazine.
