High speed Ferrari persuite, with a twist
http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?s=9445674
Steve Jefferson/Eyewitness News
Indianapolis - Metro Police chased down one of the fastest cars on the road this weekend. They started tracking a red Ferrari speeding and weaving through traffic on US 31 near Stop 11 on the city's south side. The chase ended when the Ferrari pulled into the emergency room at Community South Hospital.
The luxury sports car is in police impound after a short pursuit and traffic stop. It's a pre-owned Ferrari driven by 31-year-old Joseph Armanno. During Operation PullOver on Thanksgiving weekend, an officer spotted the Ferrari traveling at high speeds.
"He was dodging in between cars and not using a turn signal. He activated his emergency lights," said Sgt. Matthew Mount.
Metro Officer Christopher Kibbey says at US 31 and Stop 11 Road Armanno hit the gas pedal and took off. During a short pursuit He followed the Ferrari into Community South Hospital. That's where police say Armanno yelled he was having chest pains as Officer Kibbey took him into custody.
"The officer got him down, got handcuffs on him and escorted him into the emergency room," said Sgt. Mount.
Police found three guns including a silencer in the Ferrari, which were all registered to Armanno. But officers have questions about the 2001 pre-owned Ferrari, which is valued around $130,000.
Eventually Armanno will be able to come and get his car out of impound, but first, investigators say they have good reason to check it out first.
"There is a prior arrest but there is no conviction regarding stolen vehicles in the past," said Sgt. Mount.
The investigation into Armanno's traffic stop is ongoing.

Sigh. Good times. The fact that you could call helicopters to drop exploding barrels on cars just made it the best game at the time.
