Well I knew he would'nt like america, hes made if obvious before. Did'nt he say awhile ago he would'nt go to america again because he hates the airport security?

One thing I dont understand is why the stig got arrested?

and is it true europeans cant get petrol at the pumps? sounds strange but im guessing its JC's sense of humour and its not actually a fact.

"no out of town checks" applies to out of town americans too but beyond that, perhaps he didn't "properly" notify his CC company of his traveling?

You know the Stig. The all-white racing driver we use on Top Gear. Well, we were filming him walking through the Mojave desert when lo and behold a lorry full of soldiers rocked up and arrested him. He was unusual. He wasn’t fat. He must therefore be a Muslim.
LOL i just love JCs kind of humor!

Love JC's humor I have never been to US but it might be some truth in what he says i think. Btw some of Russian towns have parts of it 100% copy of eachother, I was amaysed when I saw it  There was a movie made on that subject - one of the most popular for about 30 years in Russia

LOL he is just spouting nonsense! I can tell you that anyone from any country that has a valid Visa/MasterCard/AMX/Discover and a valid passport can easily buy gas and get money at a casino! What on earth he was trying to use?

I worked at BoA for 5 years in the Foreign Exchange department and what he is saying is just crazy! I also have traveled all over the world including the UK. He is the dumb one for not knowing how to use plastic! Or if he has a bank account at any major British bank he could have easily walked into a BoA or any other major bank and gotten money. BoA even has some ATMs where you can get money out in different currencies!!!

Not to mention that Vegas has millions of foreign visitors every year. How on earth a rich British celebrity was stupid enough to not get money at a Vegas casino is beyond me! He really should not have even written that because all it did was make himself look really dumb! And I have never seen a gas pump where entering your address is even possible!!

His entire story is a bucket of tripe.

BTW, certain OIL companies decided that to better secure themselves and customers, if you swipe a credit car, they ask for your home zip code (postal code) as a 2nd form of verificaiotn.

You type it into the keypad and move o

Its got nothing to do with anything security related - other than your own card being abused.

Many other oil companies gas stations do not require this - and in fact when my dad comes over to visit he uses his South African issued visa to buy gas, groceries, rent cars, buy models, cameras you name it.

His satire is actually getting old and he needs to change his methods, its not entertaining anymore- its rather silly.

Imagine guys, he got paid a bucket of cash for that column that said nothing - wouldn't youlike that gig if you could get it?

Oh - and to top it off, my father, step-mother and sister all said that they had more trouble using their credit cards, getting cash and otherwise interacting in London thatn they ever did in the US..

He's just a big soiled goober is all he is - stupid gorilla wif the Kevin Keegan hairdo..

Don’t forget he owns a Ford GT, Volvo XC90 (which he admits on the show was created by Ford, in America, for Americas, yet still says its "brilliant"). Loves the Focus, and has finally come around to liking the Vette.

Plus he seems to vacation here ALL THE TIME! Especially Arizona.

Edit: oh yeah also he said he "LOVES" the Hummer H2!! He said he even consider buying one before deciding on the XC90 if I remember correctly. LOL I couldn’t believe that one!

You have to realize guys that the show is made for UK mainly, he dont care about if you can see it in other countries. UK tv stations pays him money for making british people happy, so he can buy FordGT and spend time in Arizona Its just a show and you know that he like to OVERdramatize things

I think he is his own biggest fan - and if it wasn't for the fact "his" show was on public TV, it would be cancelled and thrown in the bin...

John Cleese is funny... hell, even benny Hill was funny.. JC is just a brash loud mouth git half the time... --- hmmm, maybe I don't like him cause it's like looking in a mirror for me...
