Schumi to be replaced by Alonso in 2005?
What do guys think of the rumours of the past weekend? According to Spanish newspapers Alonso is said to replace Schumi in 2005 at Ferrari. Renault denies by saying Alonso has a contract with them till the end of 2005. And Alonso's manager said Alonso had a contract till the end of 2004 at Renault and would be free to go anywhere after he served that.

I think in F1 you can look so far away in the future.. simply to hard to know how things will be in 2005

Well, Shcumi will probably retire by the end of 2004. As for the Alonso rumors, I dont know. Rumors are just rumors and we never know the truth. I would not want Alonso on the team. Dont ask why, I wouldnt want to see him drive for Ferrari. From the guys out there, Id like to see Weber or Kimi drive for Ferrari.

i very much doubt it
in f1 nothing is signed until the very end. if you look at the past sign ups, its alwasy a few months before the new season.
anyways schumi is signed up till end of 2006

Its impossible to know whats the future of both drivers in 2005. Its just the same as the rumour of montoya replacing coulthard in 2005. Its just all tabloid news to get people talking. Its too far ahead to even think about it, but it does make for interesting coversation. What will be more interesting is next year, and if there will be any changes. For example, will the qualifying be changed again, will Minardi be bought over by someone else and actually become a better team, etc.

I would not be surprised to see Alonso go to a different team. Now that team being Ferrari? I doubt it. Personally, I could see Kimi heading Ferrari's way, especially now that Montoya is on his way in. Kimi is looking to be treated as a teams "First" driver, not a partner of another driver such as JPM.

Not in 2004. Although Alonso should be a future champion and if he is indeed to be *the* Schumacher replacement, then i can see him spending a year or even two racing beside Schumacher and Ferrari/Schumi grooming him into that champ.
2005/2006 if it really happens.

I agree with TT, everything is possible in F1, everything can happen so why not even if i read more on Kimi in Ferrari for 2005 i think that Ferrari is looking for every driver able to replace Schumacher and Alonso is undoubtly one of them.

Alonso is a good driver but I think he will follow in Jenson Button's steps.....too much hype too soon.
