Default Road & Track crowns Lp560-4 King over GT-R, GT2,R8, ACR, ZO6, DBS, M3, MR and S 240

Road and Track magazine has crowned the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 the best sports car in America.

No judging on price, comfort, styling, legroom, color, or cupholders. Just speed. Four tracks an oval, autocross, Streets of Willow and Willow Springs raceway.

1 Lamborghini Gallardo lp560-4
2 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR
3 Nissan GT-R
4 Porshe 911 GT2
5 Audi R8
6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
7 Aston Martin DBS
8 BMW M3 Coupe
9 Mitsuishi Lancer Evolution MR
10 Lotus EXige S240

Porsche won the oval course.
Viper won the Willow Springs Raceway.
Lamborghini won the Streets of Willow.
Viper won the Autocross.

Yes Viper won half but Lamborghini placed high enough in all the races to win overall points. Viper lost by .18 point out of 100.

No Ferrari was included so, after all this effort, it really does not count.

It does however seem to give some credibility to the GT-R, and it does confirm how far the ZO6 has fallen. Considering the cost of the 911GT2, one wonders what Porsche is thinking right now, as this is their fastest current production car.

I met with the company Nissan contracts out to handle PR for the automotive magazines, and the GTR; they told me they've replaced the tires after each outting; as they are no longer legal tread depth. Not bad for 11,000 mile tires?

One could only imagine how high the Z06 would go if it was sold with a half way decent set of rubber.

Don't be so sure.

I've seen reviews of LP560-4 and even Gallardo models outperform the F430.

Good styling isn't the only thing Ferrari is lacking now days!

With the inclusion of the Ferrari, there would be no question. With the Ferraris missing, it continues to leave doubt as to whether the Lamborghini is the true King.

In Quattroroute, Alain PRost (former Ferrari pilot) drove the Scud to the top of the test... including the GTR, and LP 560-4...

Wait, what?
You guys are suggesting Ferrari is slow these days? I must have missed the memo?
The 560-4 should almost be compared to the Scuderia - both are updated models of the original.

1. It's funny that you consider Top Gear as reliable source of information and not just pure entertainment.

2. In one of Jereme Clarcksons DVD's, Gallardo outperforms the F430 on the track.

Nobody said slow!

Just not as fast as it should be against the new competition.
