www.rollingstone.com
search the site for the band, and it will tell other bands like it

you gotta be kidding me...They link Godsmack with Michelle Branch, but not Alice in Chains, whom Sully is heavily inspired by (hence the origin of their name). Not completely sure i would trust their advice How the hell do they think Staind and Creed are similar!?

they only care about good music..
yet they link Metallica and DIO as well Metallica = good, DIO = horrible

i'll just let this search of Alice in Chains prove my case

they claim to be a tool to broaden horizons, but this seems to be a pretty closed minded list

DIO isn't bad, well he is no ozzy, but heck heaven and hell and mob rules, are the best non ozzy albums from sabbath.
heaven and hell better then tech. ecstasy and never say die? mayb, well prob not... well mayb

holy diver is also better then some ozzy albums
I would like to see anyone try and fight ultimate sin vs. holy diver
no way Ozzy is better then Dio in that battle

Dio is was also a much better song writer then Ozzy.
Geezer was so glad when Dio joined up because he could stop writing the songs and get on with playing.

as for Dio vs. Metallica. well I never really liked Metallica. don't see the point to hearing sabbath, zeppelin, and deep purple being played really fast with a poor voice over it. why not just listen to Master of Reality @ 45 and you will hear what metallica is all about
(don't want this to turn into a flame topic between Metallica vs. classic 70s rock cause I can just look at album sales and show you what one more people like )

well go do a search for one of your 70's bands and see what gets linked I'm not too convinced they've done a whole lot of research on the rock side of things

some of it is close, but doesn't really show the roots.
example cream - no robert johnson or john lee hooker listed
same or jimmy page, and the yardbirds doesn't show jeff beck.
I guess the site doesn't work as well as when I frist looked at at, but I still think it is a good idea, heck even try it for movies
