Default f1 returning to U.S

Formula One World Championship Limited and Formula One Administration Limited (together, the F1 Commercial Rights Holder) and Full Throttle Productions, LP, promoter of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix™, announce that a historic agreement has been reached for Austin, Texas to serve as the host city of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix™ for years 2012 through 2021.

its nice to have them back but bernie's decision out of all the tracks he could of picked it was purely greed to pick this track.

What F1 grade track in Austin? Downtown track? There is barely enough racing enthusiasm in Austin to keep a drag strip and parking lot autocross is business - Austin also has zero automotive heritage.

The city wouldnt be able to house the entourage and fans in enough decent otels.

I guess this wouldnt be the first time F1 has made a stupid decision.

What is ironic is how bad the FIA/ teams etc. said Indy was when driving Ralf to the hospital, but one of the major euro races had a cock up of epic proportions later, yet was simply swept under the rug... I forget just what race it was. Indy truly has wonderful facilities, but obviously doesn't compare to the massive spending projects like in the middle east that sit dormant 355 days a year.

So true, and they don't even provide much of a spectacle racewise....

That is what I think Austin would become.

F1 tracks are boring, so you regular folks will have no incentive to play on it the other 355 days of the year with othe rmore exciting tracks within 4 hours drive.

Miller Motorsorts Park seems like it would be a better choice all round.

I am going to try like hell to be there. Of all the North American F1 races, this should be the most affordable. RC, you want to meet up again? Haven't been able to get hold of Sameer since returning to forum life. Ironically, he's the one that dragged me back in.
