this is terrible news lets hope he makes a recovery he is such a brilliant tv presenter and person my thoughts are with his friends and family.

just watched the news on this and it seems very seriosu and he remains in critical condition.

i sure hope he pulls through,fingers crossed for the hamster

I wouldnt think so ... He just had an acciden doing a report.
Will they ban war reporting as some reporters get killed?

It's just a job, and sometimes there are accidents ...

Just got some new info:

According to ITV news when the parachute deployed to slow him down, the car swerved off tothe right, then overturned. It took 10minutes to cut him free. He was uncontious but came contious during the time when they was cutting him out. Hes now in hospital with his family around him and Topgear representitives. Its believe he did break the record he was attempting for topgear.

Heard about this a few hours ago, shocking news.

This is what happens when you find the edge of the envelope, yet I hoped it would never happen.

I fear this is the end for TG now. Heatlth and safety will put an end to entertaining programming once and for all.

Seems strange he is currently just down the road from me. Literally. Leeds hospital is very near the university.

I wish him all the best.
