Default Exotics in the Outback 2006 is on!

Well no need to repeat the story behind this trip I think, but for the newbies basically we are trucking out exotics to the middle of Australia (read: nowhere) where speed limits are non-existant.

Last year was an absolute ball with most cars topping 300kmh on public roads (with a max of 332kmh), and when not driving we sit around talking about cars.

My flights and accommodation are already booked, the trip will happen in August (won't announce exact dates).

The entry list at this stage looks like this (likely more to come):

3 x BMW E60 M5 (with speed limiters removed! )
1 x Ferrari F430
1 x Ferrari 348
2 x Lamborghini Gallardo (04 and 06)
1 x Lamborghini Gallardo SE
1 x Porsche 997 Turbo (!!!)
1 x Porsche 996 Turbo
1 x Lotus Esprit S4s
1 x Merc AMG E55 (modified)
1 x Yamaha R1 (should be interesting)

Yeah I'm interested to see what an M5's real top speed is, definately above 300kmh I'd say.

The F430 is actually owned by the owner of last years CS, so a direct replacement.

997Turbo
too bad there are no murcielago's
M5's would be interesting... lets see if they really can hit 205 MPH

Do try to get a ride in the SE

The owner of the Murcie from last year is getting an LP640 but it won't be here in time unfortunately, always next year I suppose.

I will get rides in all the cars I assume, just like last year. There is plenty of time to try them all out.

Interesting!

I kinda don't understand the 996 GT2 owner switching for the 997TT which is much more of a GT these days and nowhere near the hardcore GT2 :bah: but if he is happy, so we are and can't wait to be flooded with pics!

Could you guys get a hold of a GPS system to monitor speed with the same system on every car? Laser gun? Would be nice to really be able to compare with some better data than speedos

Sorry for the confusion, but the 997TT isn't owned by the guy who had the GT2 last year. He has a 997 GT3 on order.

Good idea, I'll email some of the guys and see what we can come up with.

Yeah, that GPS-speedo would be awesome!
Really get the 'real' results instead of the speedo ones, good idea TT!

I envy you dingo, make the best out of it!
Looking forward seeing your pictures....

Well the test equipment is already organised, we've got a GPS and a G-Tech meter.

Has it already been a year? God Damn!

Can't wait to check out your pictures! I'm sure they'll be 10x better than last years.
