NISMO made a great car. GTRs are totally dominating GT500 class of recently started Super GT championship with two consequteve 1-2 podiums and qualifying domination in past two races at Suzuka and Okayama. Kinda reminds the R32 in it's times..

The other cars did not have a chance.. it seems the new GT-R takes advantage of new regulations..

Sort of like Ferrari and the FIA rule changes.. oddly enough they always seem to be in their favour

Technically this doesn't count as GT-R's victory, in my point of view. The drivetrain's different, 4WD to RWD, and it's got a 4.5L V8, like the same spec 350Z race car, which I didn't think was really 350Z anyways. And yes, I feel the same way about NASCAR stock cars.

Le Mans type GT1/GT2 cars, I'm fine with.

Yes, there's a reason teams use FR N/A V8 setups when it comes to real racing. I think that says a bit about reliability and functionality.
