Default Porsche Carrera GT

I love this car, it's simply beautifull. I really really hope Porsche takes this car racing in a factory backed program.

The Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch it uses.
This is how it is cut off the composite material using a 3000 bar(!) water jet.

Here is a layout

Stress Testing

Awesome car, I sure I hope I at least get to see one of these in person some day!

Awesome pics (especially the clutch ones--haven't seen those before). I really like this car as well. Originally I didn't really like its looks, but they've grown on me some (still looks awkward in some angles though). More importantly, the tech in this car is awesome (in the vids I've seen the motor sounds like a muffled F1 car!), as are the specs. Although it might not beat an Enzo flat out in a straight line, it could certainly be pretty damn competitive on a track. I can't wait until the first Carrera GT/ Enzo/Mclaren F1 comparo.

Apparently the high up shifter is going to carry over to all next gen 911s... meh, looks kinda funny to me, although it's probably awesome for quick shifts.

No problem, I came across them and thought they were nice pics so I posted them.

Yes, Tiff does need to do a comparison on those cars. I would love to see that!

The only video of it, that I've seen, is the commercial. You can find it here:

Very nice pictures. If someone finds more, post them plz. I like the looks of this car. And it's a Porsche, so it will be very interesting to see it compared with the other recent supercars. The chanses of a straight comparison ... is rather slim, because these car's aren't so easy to get by. But I hope Tiff can do a test in them. I like JC, but for a supercars comparison, I rather rely on Tiff.

I was impressed by the picture of the ceramic brakes and the waterjet working at 3000 bar, that incredible! If they point that thing at a men it would just go right through you! I allways wondered why those brakes were so expensive... In the 911Turbo they're available as an option for 7500euro.

yep, I see, I was wrong. Must have read over it too fast. I've never heard of ceramic clutches before this car.

That's the biggest problem with the Murciélago along to a lot of reviewers. The clutch isn't good enough for putting that kinda power to the wheels. The Pagani has a double clutch or something like that. When you try to pull hard from standstill with the lambo, you get a blue cloud, wich is part of the clutch that burnt. Just some piece of info I like to share with you folks What I want to say: a ceramic clutch should be a very good thing!

the reason why you haven't heard of ceramic clutches before is because the carrera gt is the first production car ever to use one

Here is another video of the Carrera GT. It has a couple onboard cameras and it's zipping around Liepzig I believe.

this is probably the best CGT vid so far and it`s been up on the official Porsche site for a while.
it`s the first presentation so there are a few spots on the car that are taped. i`m afraid it`s not the test track next to the factory in leipzig, it`s the test track at the R&D departement at weissach. the driver is chief test driver and chief engineer Roland Kussmaul...lucky bastard

here are a few impressions:
