"we were ahead of the gas bike..... until 30mph then the gas bike passed use because it has more hp"

Thanks - thats all you need to know - electric vehicles outside of the warehouse or golfcourse have no place in the modern world.

Funny thing is, while we were suffering our gasoline shortage here in Houston, the electric cars were no better off.

Why? They needed to eithe rbuy gas... (which was in short supply) or get recharged, which was not going to happen because there was a black out

Pretty stupid novelty item.

*edit* Pretty stupid expensive novelty item.

*edit* *edit* Pretty stupid expensive pathetic short range novelty item..

Lots of fun? How so? The battery only lasts 20 miles. Then yo uhave to wait 2 hours to recharge. A gas powered motorcycle will get you further than 20 miles, and takes 3 minutes to refill.

That bikes not very green, I am guessing he has no idea how poluting aliminium production is.

As far aspractical use, we live in a city that covers a similar area to Wales, electric vehicles have extremely limited application at this time. The cost/benefit of a 40 mile range vehicle in a large city is almost nil.

That wasn't what I meant, but if you want to run with that, pol(l)ution and the pruduction of ali(u)minium are not usually carried out in city centres, I think the idea is to improve the quality of air in built up areas.

The fact that it is not supplied with lights suggests that it is intended as a toy and is, at the very least; a step in the right direction.

I mourn the eventual demise of the petrol engine even if it will hopefully not happen in my lifetime: if electricity is not solely the future; it is part of it.

So it’s ok for the pru(o)duction of materials to pollute, as long as it takes place elsewhere?

I am willing to bet the people living adjacent to aluminium plants would disagree.

(I left that hoping you'd spot it).

It's not O.K; but, air quality in city centres is an internal issue of total pollution.

I figured you did it just to be a cock. Those spelling errors were adjacent key typos.

They are electric bikes arent they? We're discussing electric bikes. A pointless overpriced gadget with no usable range.

The comparison that comes to mind is as useful as tits on a bull and as effective as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest

Well, the starter motor is electric, if that's what you're talking about...
On second thought... who needs starter motors when you've got a kick-starter.

I was talking about these things:

Zero Engineering Motorcycles as opposed to Zero Motorcycles.
