Default Priceless - Ferrari Crash

(originally in a powerpoint slide show i had lying around)

Dad buys new Ferrari at £300,000

Son borrows Dad’s new car to try it out…….and………………

………………hits a power line pole……………..

………………at 200 mph!

………………and you’ve seen what happens to F1 cars at these types of speed – road cars are no different!

………………The driver only had some bruising (seat belt) and 2 small cuts!!!!!!!!...................

………………Where’s the back end I hear you say…………and remember, this is a mid engine car!!!!!!!!........

………………It’s definitely not there!!!!

………………Oh there’s it is. No wonder it slowed down so quickly!!!!

………………and one of the rear wheels!!!!

………………Air bags deployed and depleted…they will need replacing. Looks like the seat can be re-used though!!

Car loss £300,000

Waiting list for a new one - 2 years
When can son drive Dad's car again - next life time
When will kid not be grounded and see the light of day - same day the polar ice caps melt…………but he is still alive....amazingly!!!

Car only had 9 miles on it………1 mile of it during the wreck………Priceless!!!

Yeah, everything in that post is wrong information

Stefan Ericson leased a Euro Enzo, or two

Moved to the US after failing as thug CEO of Gizmundo

Stopped lease payments on the Enzo - reported "stolen"

Ericson (Dietric) crashes the enzo @ 162 mph after getting airborn, and walks away. Spends time in jail - for stolen car(s) (other enzo, and SLR as well)

Deitric was the "supposed" driver who was never found

Damage - total loss, worth at least 600,000 pounds sterling, not 300

There is an Enzo that was crashed by the owner's son.... but not this one.

That one crashed and burned in Houston a couple years back.

Here is pretty much the whole story.

http://www.wreckedexotics.com/special/enzo/

Here's how it developed on JW two years ago.

http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34974

Does this qualify as a Stan?

Heres one in Utah 18 months ago. No son involved, driver survived with a broken finger.

I think there are 5 gone but I know there is a post on that here too.

Whys everyone flipping out on the guy? He put some effort into his post, and he has mentioned his source may have been incorrect..

I hadn't seen the pics before, and DAMN this demonstrates the value of a "safety cell" being incorporated into the chassis. I can't believe the guy walked away after the accident.
Hopefully lesson learnt.

Again, I'm impressed by the safety cell technology utilised by Ferrari in the Enzo. Quite impressive.

hmm that's a very effective way to transform all the kinetic energy into something else to stop the car

Hooray for energy absorbing safety structures! At least it can keep your corpse fresh and intact even if you die.
