ok, i just stumbled here, and read everyones' replies
i just want you to know, Jabba... The day i stumbled on your website i never once thought of this site as a selfish ego maintained site... both as a noob, and now especially.
i understand your delema that you want the name representative of what this home has become for so many of us, let alone the fact that our dear worm friend is owned by mr. lucas somehow
im quite sure that we all love our JW logos on the videos, and typing 'Jabbasworld' in the browser, or run fucntion... or just leave the computer running connected to 'er semi-perminently.
if i remember correctly, some months ago you had made a previous efford to change the name here... and although i love the name now, i will respect any change made. ---- just because my favorite place for loitering with my friends has changed its name doesnt mean its different then what it had been once. we may discuss it from time to time of the 'old times' but before long, it will seem like the new name is home just as much as the old name.
some ive come up with
pitlanechatter.net
thegreatforum.net
autominions.net
thefifthclick.net
thenthdomain.net ---
jwcrew.net
Tyrannoctonus.net (latin meaning 'slayer of the tyrant' it just sounds awsome)
im freshout of ideas for now, but i attempted to make names representative of more then just our leader

Evidently you have never tried to speed down a country road in an under-powered, bad handling, over-sized land yacht trying to pass itself off as a luxury tourer...
I sometimes wondered "If it wasn't needed why the hell build it?" shouldn't have been their motto..

i have to admit that the image that comes to mind when jabbasworls.net is mentioned is a dim illumination of a core group of badasses (members of the ul/dl) standing infront of a core group of badass supercars (Ferrari, Lambo, M3,5's, McLarens etc) with a larger group of curious shadows hanging around (noobs) trying to decide if they belong there.
Of course this image comes to me after i have spent over a month associating with probably the biggest bunch of screwballs on the net (trust me guys, it's a compliment) and it probably doesn't make much sense to a noob who doesn't know the site. But for us regulars and core members respectively, i would have to say that there is a sense of honor in saying that we are a part of something like what JW has become, and to rename the forum would feel like starting over to alot of us.
But if we must change the name so that t-shirt and hats can be made without copyright issues, then i guess it's for the better well, i should say, if JABBA must change the name, since it is his creation.
But whatever the outcome of this may be, i would like to say Thank You to Jabba for asking us for our thoughts and suggestions on the issue.
if the name should change, i would like to offer these as a suggestion:
extreme-propogation.net (it may sound dirty, but for those who don't know, propogation is a stage of combustion critical to the operation of the hydrocarbon burning machines which this site was created around)
www.exhaustfumes.net
www.bleeding-petrol.net (i think most of us seem to have petrol in our veins, so why not? )
www.glowingrotors.net
www.missingsomescrews.net (this could accurately describe us, no?)
there's my 2cents....or maybe that was more like 5 cents...

i really like JW... but yeah the copyright issues are kinda hard and we all want JW merchandise !!!
i guess if it comes to a new name has to be like representing a comunity... not a simple car page... maybe also trying to stick to the jabbas thing without mentioning the name eg. www.jthehuttsworld.net or something like that but IMO it would be easy to know that we couldn't use the "Jabba" so it wouldnt sound good for me...
something cool would be like JustAmazingBigButtAutoSportWorld and like that we can say its J.A.B.B.A.S... so the copyright maybe wont apply... so like that we can stick to JW.... ill think of some other names...

Sometimes, as much as we don't like it, change is necessary.
As much as I like "JabbasWorld" it does have the name Jabba in it, which will cause all types of problems if and when trying to go outside the realm of the internet.
I also like the "HorseNBull" name, but again, it could pose a problem if and when trying to expand beyond the internet. If anything else the "HorseNBull" name alienates other brands of cars.
A name that would somehow express the love that this community has for all exceptional cars has to be thought up. Even one that has a little tongue and cheek in it (thecarzoo) would be good. The name needs to roll off the tongue though. When you say it, it has to just feel right. A lot of these suggested name are cool in one way or another ,but none of them have just felt right. I'm sure one of us will come up with a name and it will just click. It will be hard though.
Coming up with a great name is almost as hard as finding the elusive G-Spot on a female during a one night stand. Though damn hard, it can be done.
