Default DVD help

Why wont my Mac take my DVD, its from universal. and i have played DVDs in my laptop before?........ Help!!!!

well its trys to read the disc but then it just ejects it back out.

Anyways dude on a more serious note. What if the DVD is Dual layered and your Mac's superdrive only does regular DVD's? What if you are putting it in upside down?

Anyways mind telling us the specs of the Mac....preferably just what kinda superdrive it is or for you none poofta users what kinda dvd player he has installed in that thing.
