Default Best/Worst songs of all time

So? What do you think?

Best: "Khe Sanh" by Cold Chisel, or "When the War Is Over", also by Cold Chisel. Great guitar-work in the bridges of both songs, and the lyrics senstively represent the mental anguish of returning Vietnam veterans.

Worst: "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne. Her career should have ended after this piece of shit.

I cant really say the best as everyone has a different view but I'm thinking along the lines of 'Most memorable'

Something like:
"Money for Nothing" - Dire Straits
"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeplin
"Under the Bridge" - RHCP (can name a few by them)
"Alive" - Pearl Jam
"All Along The Watchtower" - Jimi Hendrix
It's something you cant really define - its like saying pick your dream car and when you pick it you keep remembering other and others others. The list goes on...

I couldn't agree more with JoeHahn, great taste and exactly the ones I was thinking about, but some yet not managed.

''Tunnel of love, Sultans of Swing'' - Dire Straits
''Layla'' - Eric Clapton

As a big fan from Golden Earring (dutch band 1970s/80s)

''Another 45 Miles'' - Golden Earring
''When the lady smiles'' - Golden Earring
''Long Blond Animal'' - Golden Earring

Some of my favourites /\/\

Worst - 'Wannabe' by the Spice Girls.
Yeah, that one was pretty bad.

"Money for Nothing" - Dire Straits
I like the video for that one.

I expect people to choose great bands, but usually choose thier most popular songs.

eg; bohemian rhapsody/ Stairway to heaven/ Enter Sandman / Yesterday etc.

while all are great songs; they are definately not the greatest songs in thier arsenal.

Queens best IMO was definately "The Prophet's Song" but due to it's length, it would prolly never get radio play

Led Zeppelin's best might be harder to pinpoint.. while I love the Stairway... I take a certain appreciation when i hear Tangerine on the radio... but right now, "No Quarter" is a favorite opus, and "Ten Years Gone" is my favorite lyrical song of thiers.

While "Enter sandman" is great fun, no self proclaimed Metal head will call it thier favorite. My personal favorite has always been "Blackened" off of ...And Justice for All.

Well, I don't know enough about the Beetles, so perhaps I'd choose that, or "Guitar Gently Weeps" LOL

Best song?
Led Zeppelin - Ten Years Gone

worst song?
whats the Canadian band with Chad Kreuger and his brother? yeah, those are particularly annoying today.

but my least favorite song Ever?
Men at Work - I come from a land down under!

there are worse songs out there, worse bands...

What!?!?! I love that song. "Down Under" is actually the only Australian-produced song to have made it to number one in the Billboard Top 100.

if you knew the history of that song, and me.... you would vehemently loath it as well.

BTW, what about AC/DC ?

What happened?

They're not amongst my favourites, but some of their stuff is good. INXS had some good stuff in the time of Hutchence, but this new guy is pretty dodgy. J.D. Fortune sings like a wedding singer attempting to be hardcore.
