Well, I never undesrtood this car, is a mixture of a Countach, a Ferrari and an American Muscle car, so I guess it never had its own personality, uncool for that.

Subzero, but the wrong car is pictured... a 71/72 Pantera GTS would be the photo/model I'd choose.
DeTomasso actually "Out lamborghini'd Lamborghini" with the Pantera... this car came out years before the Countach did, and was far more exess in design then anything Lamborghini had done at the time... changed the design at Lamborghini with this car, and ultimately, effected the design of the Diablo, and Cizeta too
Besides, mixing italian supercar with detroit Iron is a sweet concept ... too bad the Isis was never able provide a finished product ....

I agree with nthfinity, the wrong car is pictured. The early Pantera was the best of both worlds, combining Italian styling with a Ford 351. This makes it a car that someone could rebuild on a modest budget compared to an old Italian 12 cylinder.

Didn't Lamborghini Urraco which Pantera resembles somewhat came out before the Pantera's production in 1971?
I believe the Urraco was introduced in October of 1970 as a concept by Lamborghini!

At which point it is easy to point the finger at the Mangusta as being a very influential design Out lamborghini'ing Lamborghini at the time.
Still, the Pantera is the better looking of the two (vs. the urraco)

It was kind of the spiritual successor of the GT40 and despite the dissappointing performance from the stock 351's, they've been built and modified into all sorts of levels of insanity. I'm going with cool.
