SA C55 AMG Supertest incl. NS lap time...
some really short statements, sorry:
NS time:
C55 is not even close to M3 cornering performance due to massive understeering, but the AMG is definitely superior on the straight, great V8 engine and at last a good auto gearbox with manu-mode...
HHR:
again, understeering prevents a better lap time, also no specific handling ( weight ) some problems with brakes too.... ops:
BTW, they tested some other nice cars too, here´re some infos:
Audi RS6 Avant PLUS - HHR: 1:17.4
EVO VIII - HHR: 1:17.2
TVR Tuscan S - HHR: 1:14.9

When is MB AMG going to make a car that corners better
Now I've found my goal, I'll work with MB AMG and make a car that eats corners for dessert

Very interesting article St-anger. Many thanks!!
I do like the C55 AMG but again it's not as good as the rival BMW sportswise. Apart from that, it's still an impressive car.
The Audi S4, M3 and C55 are pretty closely matched. Best Motoring should do a race with these, that would be nice.

the laptime for M3, 8.22 min was done year 2000. I think if they did the test again the time would be much better than 8.22 min.

the reason amg will never beat m motorsports rivals is because their philosophy is wrong- they give their cars loads of torque and power to offset their excessive weight wheras bmw keeps their cars light while providing the best engines suited for the chassis........
