First off, I would like to know how and where did you get the V-One for only 35 dollars! That sucker retails for 400, which is why I still haven't got me one.

The blue tint on top of your windshield will not affect anything, from what I've seen and read. Are you going to specially wire the V-1 to perhaps the wiring within the map light and what not? Depending on the car, I can help you.

Well from what I have read (and believe me I have read A LOT as I drive like a maniac and will get a radar soon), it will affect it, not much, but it will. What everyone does is put it below the blue tint and below the rear view mirror as that way it can get signals clearly from both sides. V1 used to be the best, right now, it is 2nd to the Escort Passport 8500 (im getting the one with blue leds 50$ cheaper than V1 and bettter). Only thing V1 has that beats Passport is the arrow signals. Not that I need them as if I hear that thing beep, then I slow down... no need to know where cop is hiding.

BTW 35$ ... this was either stolen (steal it and I giv u 35$ lol), or its an old one wich does not have firmware upgraded hence no POP detector. People send their V1 for software updates all the time to Valentine... you should check out their site and inform yourself on how to upgrade, how much it costs, and to know what version you currently have.

I have mine right smack dab in the middle of my windshield. im not sure that this is the best place, but there isnt anything blocking it in any direction.

Its not the best brand (cant even remember what its called now) but when i have the money, i will invest in the best, i just have to decide what that is. maybe a scrambler just have to hope i dont get caught with it, lol

scramblers are not allowed in most states. People use scramblers along with radar detectors.

Aleighy, Ive read so many comparissons and Escort Passport 8500 is the best right now. There is a radar-detector magazine wich also said 8500 is the best.

Using an active signal emmiting jammer is a federal crime. States have little say in this one..

Since you are broadcasting radio waves at a frequency you don't have a broadcast license for, you will have the FCC up your arse - and these guys are no fun, jusr ask Howard Stern..

NOw, having seen an active jammer in action, I can tell you they work - but any cop with an IQ above 65 will know something is up, as the radar gunn, which emits a sound as it detects the return signals, emits a very tell tale signal when it is being "jammed"..

THe coolest ones are the ones that emit a frequency that translates to an exact speed you would like the radar gunn to show..

But even then, the cop would see you fly by - and get a constatnt 35mph readout - and would know something was up..

Back to the topic, mount your detector in a clear space as others have indicated.

Really...there are jammers that let you pick the speed to show??

I heard they exist (jammers that return a speed), but they are not 100% reliable yet. Anyway, the detectors are so you dont get fined by speeding, getting a jammer and getting fined for that + speeding is worse. A Radar detector for me is just fine.

Until a female officer pulls you over. What sucks is that I've noticed the 2 old guys and 1 female that have pulled me over have let me off but the 2 times I've gotten tickets they were both the young guys.

I think I might have to go spend an ass load on a V-1 or 8500
