YAY !!! At last I have ADSL at home now
Damn it doesn't seem like much now but when you have had to put up with a 56k modem for the last 6 months and trips back to the office to upload Top Gear at 1 am...it kinda seems like the fastest connection in the world right now...and its only 1MB/256
I was getting some good upload speed's last night - between 30-32 kB /sec and managed to upload the following videos.
Tyson vs William (inc pre & post fight analysis)
KGB - Secret UFO Files PR 1
KGB - Secret UFO Files PR 2
Prepare yourself for plenty more videos over the next few days.

That's great news!! And upstream is kinda enough even for 100 to 200 MB files IMO!
Can't wait for the next load to come

Not much better 2MB/256....but we are looking at bonded ADSL right now that would give us upto 8MB/1MB
http://www.nildram.net/pdf/bondedbroadband.pdf
Just imagine being able to UPLOAD Top Gear in about 25 minutes.

To celebrate I couldnt resist buying a wireless notebook for browsing JW in the garden.
It felt kinda weird though last night uploading videos from outside that are flying through the air over to my router and then onto the JW server.
Not a bad price and I am 100% happy with everything so far.

hahahah you don't miss a trick !!!
Well its a room that I don't really use hence the carpet has remained in its "new" state
On the subject of floors....after all the work that was put into my wood flooring...it all had to be sanded down and re-done...as the first attempt didn't work properly (the top layer started to mark badly).
Anyway...after a lot of mess (a mini sand storm) having to pack all my computers away (another reason to buy the notebook) it is all finished...and ready for a different type of wood varnish...that so far looks much better.

It has been a real nightmare....as prior to the sanding they all had to be stripped with a paint stripper type chemical (nitro moors).
I should think it added another £3K onto the whole project...that makes me feel absolutely sick...(probably a couple of doors on the M3CSL that I am dreaming off)
Anyway as you say....as long as it looks good in the end....then thats the most important thing.

I have tested the wireless network out to around 100ft and it dropped down to 11MB...I am going to try alot more testing tonight....I also have a few phone sockets that I can move the router to that might improve the performance slightly.
