Oh this is rich. RC45 is gonig to have a field day with this

Sorry to say, but this really is a fuck up on a major league standard. I find it surprising that Ferrari doesn't have the occupancy detection mat in the passenger seat to tell the airbag unit that an underwieght child is occupying the seat. As for not protecting the small women...i got nothing for that one...Why aren't they wearing their seatbelt anyway?

OK I have to do this. I agree with the last comment from the article why the hell can't the "premiere" sports car company the ones who make some of the fastest cars in the world and F1 cars, figure out a damn airbag sensor that even us dumb folk Americans can figure out on a $15,000 Ford Focus or Chevy Cobalt? hell they could even do what most trucks do and have a damn switch installed in the cars.

Personally I think all airbags should be optional - and when included int he car, should be able to be disabled with a switch.

Having a weight sensor in the seat is just stupid - this means you can't switch out seats.

If you take out the airbag module what is the difference?

this is F**king stupid, there's a small number of people who can't be protected in the passenger seat, so we ban the whole car? this isn't enough reason to ban the car altogether. so, how many people have been killed because of this "problem"? start calling your congressman, or I guess I should say "congress person". I'm getting pissed at all these rules lately! :x

Yeah airbags are a requirement for all cars in the US. I can't remember the exact date that that went into effect (maybe 1995?). It's one of the issues that need to be worked out for the Nissan Skylines to be granted importation into the US....again...

That would be a major disappointment for US customers and Ferrari But it also will put the pressure on Ferrari for launching the F430 successor
