Default Great New Kazaa Tool !!!! KaNat !! For Router Users

YeeeHaaaa ! KaNat, a killer little Kazaa tweak for peeps using Kazaa behind a Router. Like me. I never knew this, even if you forward the port for Kaz, you will not be able to connect to another Router user.
Has something to do with Kaz not using the Wan address, it instead uses the intranet or private IP 192.168.xxx.xxx and those IP's are not valid out in the Wan.
Someone realized this and made a little gizmo that switches the IP over after Kaz gets goin so it has a Wan IP. This allows you to connect to another router user or any other machine like normal.

Does it make a difference? Like you wouldn't believe!! When I thought about it some, I realized that probably beter than 40% of the comps on the Kaz network are behind routers. Peeps usin old pc's for Kaz servers and what not.
So anyway once I plugged this little baby into Kaz's butt, and set the ports to there setting, made sure all was good to go and gave er a test run.

The difference is astounding, as Im typin this I looked at my netstat monitor for the server and Kaz is SMOKIN .... I have 10 DL's goin at one time, and there isnt one that is getting less than 80 - 100Kbs or more Net monitor is showing a constant 2.2mbs+ incoming!!! I have more connections than Ive ever seen before. each DL is showing 4-5 sources!

All I can say is WoW !!! If you are using a Router and Kazaa, I suggest you hop on over to http://doa2.host.sk/ and grab KaNat. Its one Bad Ass little piece of software.

Can anyone help?

KaNat error msg "You are using port greater than 32767"....I've look into the FAQ and follow the instructions to use port forwarding on my DI-713P router....seached google for port forwarding instructions....port forwarded using virtual server in router's program.....yet after still have that error msg.

Wondering if anyone using a D-Link router having same problem can help me out.

nope, well ya cud but wont gain anything from it.

Hyspeed, Im familair with D-links. Question why the hi port? Or is it an error? Kaz normally uses 1214
The idea is say you run Kaz on pc with 192.168.1.100 for its internal ip ok, what you want to do is in the routers configure screen, for pc 192.168.1.100 you want to assign port 1214 to the 100 IP. OK were done here the next step is to open Kaz and in its options be sure that its set to port 1214 closw Kaz and restart it. Let it connect like normal, then open the KaNat program, click on the little buttons beside each box, it should fill in the correct IP's final thing is to set kazaas IP to your outside IP KaNat should show your wan IP or outside IP, click apply to Kazaa and you will now connect MUCH better than you did. The thing is unreal.

Plain ol cable, just helps greatly I have one of the best fuckin ISP's in the country... err Don't let anyone know I said that!!!!! My *ISP is technicly AOL EEEEKKKKKKK Time Warner really RoadRunner!! The company that sells and services RR here in Hawaii is Oceanic CableVision, one of the all time best rated companys in Hawaii. They flat out ROCK!! I got no cap, no dumb ass set limits, all for $39.00 a month! and the best part is, the "node" Im connected to is brand new fiber optic installed less than 5 months ago and its only got 10 or so people on it!! Normally each "node" supports upwards of 200 peeps!

Ive seen speeds well over 2mbs many times, once I had a sustained 5.1mbs downloading a linux 4dizk ISO package from Berkly.org!!

Thats how I can run the server and Kazza and now too my Hawaii Rox Radio Station!! all off my home cable, and still play HL if I like with a sub 90 ping to most of the west coast!
