they reckon the police in LA plant drugs on people so I am glad I didn't wind the cop up
|
well in that case i'm glad i didn't attract any attention to myself once i got into the state. Just think how much they could have tried to pin on a minivan and 8-foot Uhaul trailer
the few cops i've talked to have all been pretty cool so far, but i haven't talked to any staters yet. (no i didn't get pulled over)

The last time I remember it snowing in houston was the day I was born...Jan 3, 1985 ..lol - atleast thats what I'm told, but I live in dallas now and yes its snowing, I'm farther north almost in Frsico, and the streets are are pretty icy, mainly on the bridges and what not..I saw a car turned completely over on the highway on the way home..and 3 more wrecks on another bridge in plano...then again Texans are idiots when it comes to driving in ice, we dont know how b/c it never really gets as bad as it does up north

Yeah well according to my temp gauge it's 29 outside and when I went out with the dog at 1130pm the car park was like an ice rink in places. I won't drive in the ice unless it's an emergency, besides I live at the bottom of a hill also - luckily we're well stocked up.
You're right though, people in Ft Wth don't slow down for the conditions either. There will be lots of wrecks over the next few days.

We have this parade here every year called The Hollidazzle. Anyway, if the temp drops below -25F, it gets cancelled. It's only 3PM and it's been cancelled. Methinks I'll stay inside tonight.

LOL - it is safely tucked in the garage
As for the fishtailing, I'd rather watch other people lose it than I! There was a jeep like nthfinity's on FOX4 news tonight losing it big time on a bridge. Fortunately for the people inside it looked like they got away with only their pride damaged...and a couple of headlamp/taillamp assemblies

Its bad enough seeing Texans drive when it rains ... must be scary with these morons when there is ice on the road
And there always seems to be an accident on a bridge in Texas when there is rain about. A couple months back I was returning back to Houston from South Padre Island when a severe thunderstorm hit that area. Every time I came to a bridge there was some accident. I think the expansion joints and water collecting in pockets in places are the cause for so many cars to lose it apart from drivers in SUVs that overestimate their grip over bends

Well it is very easy for ice to form on bridges even when it's not extremely cool because of the air moving over and under it cooling the surface, that and causes a strong gust on the bridge.
The only thing around here that you have to watch for is either black ice or huge snow drifts that can get blinding, so you get snow over the road large amounts of wind hitting the side of the car and low visibility but then again living here you get used to it very quickly
