So the C5 Zo6 still beats the normal C6? Cause the CS is whole 4 sec faster on the top gear track then the C6, and you cant say "its due to temperature etc of the day" because that would result in max 2sec difference cosidering its not NS but a 1.19min track

So that means it should also beat the Ford GT! Wow that is really going to piss some people off! Especially Clarkson! Did you see him lick his GT on the last show? LOL

Yes - the C5 Z is superior to the C6 Z51. GM at least gave us that much respect...

But you can factor in the horrible shitty lap that was done in the C6. Wild useless oversteer and locking the brakes, yea, very professional.

Yeah exactly, plus then you also get the pop-up headlights, which btw are the coolest things ever 8)
Yes but I have already heard that the new Z06 with some mods will reach 800HP +!! The mods people are going to do to the new Z06 is going to be just sick!

800hp without significant rebuilding or S/C T/C is quite unrealistic..

Remember, the 427ci is a tried and true formula - there are many 650 crank hp NA 427ci and a fair number of TC 800hp+ cars running around - but the cost is rather more than normal bolt ons - which the new LS7 (with clever engineering) already includes.

The bottom line is a 650rwhp NA 427ci C6 Z06 will require significant investment over and above the $70K entry fee..

Thats why the guys who are running 550rwhp (650+ crank hp ) 427ci C5 Z06's answer the "You gonna buy one?" with a resounding "Why buy a slower car? "

But overall, at least the Corvette engineers followed up the C5 Z06 with an improvement - would have sucked it was slower..
This from a guy on a different board -
"Actually I have been on the phone with the boys at Lingenfelter several times in the last to weeks working on my build sheet. The plan is for 1000hp. Lingenfelter will have a 1000hp C6 Z06 on the street by early-mid September. They already have their LS7 engine but no cars to put them in. The guy I have been talking to seems to think that with a better flowing exhaust and tune the stock Z06 will be in the 10s. The are shooting for 8s by october with their TT monster Z06. It will be streetable too. "

So it will be TT 1000HP!

Not the first 1000hp streetable TT setup either..

There is a bloke on the Z06Vette forum up on the east coats... has 1000+hp streetable Z - running this all throuhg the LS6 346ci motor.. not even a 427ci base..

So - it's all possible.. just depends on whose sticker you want on the fender, and how much money you are willing to spend.

we could probably fight about this all day bc depending on how you look at it i suppose its all slang and figure of speech, but as i see it, a "modded" car is one that is changed after it leaves the factory by someone other than the manufacturer. the z06 is not a "modded" base corvette. its built in the factory and leaves teh factory "stock" only to be called "modded" after the owner or whoever else changes it. but its obvious we are both fans of the vette so i guess we dont need to fight over something so unimportant.

Hey, I couldnt care much about those Top Gear laps either, but its the only and closest lap time comparison I can find, still, even if it was not a great lap 4sec is huge difference

LOL you need to have your eyes checked!! I can’t wait to see this beast on Top Gear! Even Clarkson with his brand new Ford will have to admit that GM has made one of the most kick ass cars in the world!!!

This thing is a work of art!! A beautiful sculpture that you can crawl inside of and drive like a bat out hell!! lol

Sorry. It’s been a long time coming for the USA. This thing at triple it’s actually price would still be a killer!!!
