its really quite striking!
this is the first ive seen of the car, i was really looking forward to seeing the cobra concept in production form tho...
whatever ford decides, the GT's replacement should be in around 2007, or 2008 as its to use a lot of the supercar-parts-bin
the shelby concept was pushing 'at least 605hp' in v10 n/a form

I know that the Cobra Concept is starting production in Michigan after the Ford GT is stopped being made in 2007. I have no idea about this one.

This car is definitley not the coupe version for the Cobra Concept because the cobra is very light this is 3900lbs! But ford and shelby had their ways for getting something heavy to move fast.

no official announcements have been made
internal work suggests a remodel, as the car was too 'minimalist'
from what i hear, svt has yet to decide on the wheather roadster will be made. my guess has always been yes.

Chmon now, Ford Doesnt care what SVT thinks What shelby says now goes. If shelby says your gonna stop production of the Mustang cobra to make my cobra, they will do it. Because the shelby name is so well known it would bring in so much showroom attraction.

you have to realize that Ford will not suspend SVT production any further so if they decided to actually build the Cobra themselves they have to figure out where to build it.
SVT brings in a good amount of customers to Ford and some potential buyers realize they can't afford one so they buy a GT. SVT is a definite go as soon as the GT is done not even Carrol can tell them to stop production on 2+ vehicle lines to build another limited run hand built car that costs the price of 4 Mustang Cobra's.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see the new Cobra become a reality but the likelyhood is low and there is no official word yet hell you can buy an original Cobra still so why not buy one of those in Carbon Fiber with the Supercharged Aluminum 427 and get it over with.

It's an american DB9! Nothing to do with the original car, just a nice car copying Aston Martin's styling.
And it has the Ford GT doors!
But it is a nice car indeed!

oh my, it seems quite wrong here suddenly...
ok, first fact
shelby sued ford in the 70's for cobra name moniker
shelby is once again working with Ford
the new mustang cobra is not being held up because of shelby, but rather, it IS BEING devoloped right now, under a new director of the cobra (John Coletti is director over all SVT, is often referred to as 'god' for his one-sided decisions.

the Ford GT, and supplemental replacements are, and will be made at the Ford assembly plant in Wixom, MI (t-bird, LS, town car). so a place to build it already exists, separate to where the cobra, lighning, focus, contour lines were.

the REAL reason as to why we wont see a new SVT until 2007 is the demands and requirements needed to create an all new car in 2.5 years. not because of Carol shelby.

where do you see DB9 pn that car?
is it the long hood and 2 doors?
the swooping rear lines?
If those are what you mean I could say it's a 612! or 575!
maybe a XKR!
maybe a Vanquish!
or DB7
maybe the AMV8...

Just my opinion, dude. Obviously any modern sports car has basically the same profile (apart from Porsches), but the front ent of this car reminds me of the DB9.

Someone do some photoshop work and transplant the GT40 nose to the DB9. It will make the Shelby to look exactly like it.
The headlamps, the "feline face", too similar.

Ok, maybe if you chopped the roof a good 3 inches on that DB9 + replaced the front end with a gt40's... nah, still would look like a Aston. It definetly looks like a Daytona, modernized "a la" GT40. I personally think it looks even better than the GT.
