Default Honda or Mitsubishi

I hope you guys could understand what i'm saying...
I need your advice on this, My dad wants to buy a new car. an MPV for the family..and the choice are not limited between these 2 brand... Any other choices are wellcome...

1. The Honda Odyssey 2.4 Absolute

- SRS airbags, ABS, EBD
- leather seats
- soft suspension (more comfort compare to accord)
- DVD disc with screen display on board
- rear camera (don't really care about this)
- Xenon bulb
- 7 seater
- Price around 34,500 Euro
- 5 speed triptonic gear
- the front looks like a Gundam robot, but I like it...
- Ugly rear

2. The Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4
- 2.4 litre MIVEC engine, pumps around 160 ps
- SRS airbags, ABS, EBD
- leather seats
- quite firm suspension, but still comfort (handles more good then the odyssey)
- single disc with mp3 player
- 7 seater also
- Price around 23,770 euro
- 4 speed triptonic gear
- looks better
- LED rear lights (i think thats cool)

here are few pics of the cars....
- the Honda Odyssey Absolute

- Mitsubishi Grandis

Hahahahaha...sorry, but that's just funny.

Honda is twice as reliable as Mitsubishi, Hondas are among the most reliable cars you can buy, Mitsubishis are probably the worst of the Japanese manufactures in reliability.

Definitely go for the Honda.

From my perspective, neither.... minivans should never have been invented. The station wagon is for moving people... and a pickup truck is used for moving good and supplies.

To join the two together simply creates a bad handling top heavy car that serves neither purpose very well - but the market place has been brainwashed into believing the minivan is something they wanted

Now that the Japs have perfected the reliable car/truck - would someone please clone the Chevy Suburban.... PLEASE...

For a van/family mover to be useful in and around the house and world - you should be able to put a 4' x 8' (1.2m x 2.4m) standard sheet of plywood flat in the cargo area.

That's my 2c...

Here here. I don't like SUVs either, but they are more bearable than minvans. I mean at least you can have a bit of fun off road in an SUV (well, mild off road unless its a 4x4)

Back to the topic... If you must buy one of these things then go with the Honda. More reliable and better residual value.

I hate the people that buy SUV's, but are never gonna go offroad with it. Like most people in the US do. It's just pointless.
Obviously you missed the point.

Station wagon is good enough to move people - a truck or SUV is for moving goods and supplies.

Can you fit a 4' x 8' sheet of ply wood flat in the back of an average minivan?

For that matter, are you even safe in an average minivan?

Every time we test drive one, I make a point of doing a quick lane change and trying to stop mid-lane change - good enough to scare the wife back into reality that minivans are the most unsafe piece of trash on the road.

Again, if you HAVE to conevy your family, get a freaking station wagon. Leave the top heavy bad handling rides for goods and supplies.

Wow! I can't believe I agree with you again.

A Volvo S60 R would be a fucking nice choice. I just saw one today. Now that's a nice car.
