Its time to call the Saints on them...

Do you have any idea of how it could be? a road version of the Bowler Wildcat, light and hardcore... wouldn't be that bad afterall
couldnt have said it better myself.. its too bad they're most likely going to make something that is ugly and fat

How drunk were the Lotus engineers when they came up that idea? It doesn't make sense at all

Hopefully it's just a showcase for other manufacturers on what Lotus can do with the architecture. Given the 300hp output, in order to have the same power to weight ratio of the Elise S2 (220hp/t), it has to be ~1360kg. Shouldn't be too hard for the Lotus guys to pull that off

it says in the link that it'll have a 190 hp/tonne power to weight ratio...meaning 1578kg by my calculations...not good that's twice the original elise... but we'll see how it turns out...

Don't forget that Lotus is more than a manufacturer of Lotus cars. They also do a lot of development for other brands. This SUV is just to show what they can do with all of their knowledge. Who cares if they buid such a vehicle for another brand, it only means that the Lotus group will get more money and can spend more on developing new Lotus sports cars.

I can see the product planners when they came up with the idea: "Oi chaps, do you want a laugh? We're going to build a CROSSOVER, BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

and then they all O.D'd from the alcohol necessary to think otus is going to build a crossover.

IMO Cayenne is very good car and succesfull project for porsche. If lotus produce a crossover they will be succesfull too. Because their engineering department and R.D. department is one of the best of car companies.

It looks to be a design study to show Lotus Engineering capabilities. I think Colin Chapman may spin in his grave, but then again he gave us the 1970's Elite (sort of a squared off AMC Pacer - not the original Elite).

The Cayenne success gave Porsche the cash to build the GT and now get back into ALMS racing with their new prototype. Who knows?

Happy Motoring!
