Default XviD 1.0 final

This is sort of off topic, but the XviD 1.0 (no more betas) has been released today and can be downloaded from http://koepi.roeder.goe.net/xvid.shtml

Will test it later today to see how much better it is.

so what are the results?
a lot better?
slight noticeable difference?
not necessary?

i'm just worried it will further fuck up my codecs if i test it myself

I just upgraded from XviD 1.0 RC4 to 1.0 final and it seems to work fine. Haven't encounter any problem so far.

Will post some caps encoded with XviD 1.0 in a few hours.

I just installed the XviD-Dec-1.0-Beta3 for viewing the building the ultimate racing car (hosted by danv6), and after installing it, I tried to watch the latest 5th gear episode and... OMG, what the....!!! the movie had green ghosts in the upper mid-screen. And it was doing it with all my vids except the ultimate racing car. I uninstalled it, but the ghosts kept appearing. So I went to have lunch, a little angry for that, and after an hour or so, only DL a gigantic homework, the green ghosts dissapeared.
Hope you don't have these problems.

Goto XviD decoder configuration and uncheck the DIVX, DX50 and mp4v checkboxes. Try other settings as well. XviD has problem decoding some other codec. The 1.0 final fixed some compatibility issues according to the release notes.

well.. I should say virtualdub isn't the only one of course, many programs that encode avi files will have the same options to choose which codec you want to use, but I use vdub a lot
