Thanks st-anger for the scans . Really interesting article about the GT3. It had a unique perspective on the handling as more unsettled than the 993RS. I have never heard the 993RS receive such high praises before but since I haven’t driven either maybe what he said is true.

I tried to find times for the 993 RS on the NS but the closest I could come was the 993 GT2 with 8:09. Anyone seen a time for the 993RS. It would be interesting to see.

The 9911 T/R article was also interesting. When I read such articles I somewhat think to myself at what we have given up with today’s’ heavier cars. The 996 GT3 RS is a nice attempt but it would be great to have something that is even lighter. I was slightly confused by the titanium cone rods issue. Is that common on today’s cars that feature these parts or only for the those particular era cars? Anyone?

RUF days

...some quite nice pics from the RUF event at HHR - maybe the one or other´ll notice that red Koenigsegg CCR - to tell u a little secret, this car had been at HHR for the HHR part of the Sport Auto Supertest and on tuesday HvS finalized the test at the Ring, sorry this is all what i´ve heared, unfortunately NO lap times now...
but well, we´ll see...

You made me very very curious about the Sport Auto report of the Koenigsegg. The power of the car is amazing as well as everything else. But I do wonder if they managed to perfect the handing since Martin Brundle drove the CC8.

im not sure i would want a white CGT myself; but its hard to make the car look ugly. i guess im more interested in the car under the car-cover to the right... im suprised to see it with the rear spoiler up... and the cover still fitting; and it looks like it's a wider wing then a normal CGT... also, the rear arch looks more rounded, but mabey im wrong

Okay I have asked this question before but the first article refers to the fact that Porsche stayed with an air cooled engine (356 transitioning to 911) because of its proven advantages. Anyone know what those are? I think water cooling is more efficient and uniform. The only advantages that I can think of a potentially reliability with less moving parts and weight savings. When I asked this before the answer was the reason traditionalist prefer an air cooled engine was because of the exhaust note .

The 996 4S is what all 996 models should have looked like 8) . Glad they made the 40th anniversary in RWD form (but too few) but IMO they should have made all the 996 models with that look. Really stunning.
