"Lambo ponders Miura

Lamborghini is pondering the thought to build its striking Miura concept car, which was unveiled at the recent Detroit Motor Show.

Originally the Italian carmaker indicated that the Miura concept won't reach production but the show car created such a positive response forcing Lamborghini to take another look at possible production.

It is expected that Lamborghini could make an official announcement about the Miura's future at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

According to insiders it is likely that the Miura will be built as a low-volume production car. The striking concept car shares its styling with the classic 1960s Miura.

Rumour has it that Lamborghini is also to enter the lucrative luxury SUV market to take on the popular Porsche Cayenne. Such a Lambo SUV will share its underpinnings with the new Audi Q7. (Lamborghini is owned by Audi.) "

well, would be nice, even if they did some limited serie of new miura

about the SUV: .... I know they had LM002, but I also know that Lambo said that they have the Murci and Gallo are on the top of their prodiction line and will be dificult to make another model together with these two ones. so is Lambo becoming non-exotic car maker in the future?

well... the way to profitability is higher volume cars... simple...

i cant say i dont like the new miura... but i think it needs some key changes to its front facia that reflect modern aerodynamics, and a revised rear more reminiscant of the original (tailpipes)

i hear that the v12 it may get wont be transverse like the original... pity, cause then it would be a true mid-engine.

it would be great to see this and the new Ford GT next to each other... somehow, i feel the Miura is bigger...

It makes allot of sense, they should keep the original Miura as an icon and a legend until they can make another one that is groundbreaking, futuristic, and innovative like the original was, and not just a copy of the oiginal.

"However, Lamborghini has now issued a statement which says that it doesn't have the capacity make it, and that the Miura is a GT and "we're not in the GT business any more. We are a super sports car business. "

thankyou, audi
