If you top it out about a dozen times in an 1100 mile road trip - would that equate to 2100mph... ???

Just an Escort 8500 - the secret is to keep your eyes open, and NEVER dismis an "early warning" blip - even if it means keeping near to the speed limit for 2 or 3 miles...

The Escort 8500 saved me about 5 times on this most recent trip... too bad the guy in the Dodge RAM tailgating me at 110 through Arkansas didn't think I slowed for a reason... he left me in the dust....

I crested the brow after a mile long straight-away and coasted by at 70mph - while he was busy with an intimate interview with an Arkansas State Trooper...

140 MPH four times on I-10 in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. My car (Audi S4) is speed limited at 142 mph. Otherwise it would hit 155 mph me thinks...

I-10 is perfect place to test top speeds - there are sparsely populated sections of it with arrow straight roads and you can see ahead for miles at a time - all necessary to make sure that you hit warp speed safely.

I10 has to be one of th emost boring roads in the world. I drove from Houston to SF via 10 into LA and then up (22 hours straight in a 330i that was misfiring due to modified cams - we were lucky to hit 85-90mph, it was lowered, stiff as HELL, and we split a rim in AZ, which cost us 3 hours) - i wanted to shoot myself it was so boring. And I drove the whole way in my friend's car, who played passenger / navigator (not like there was a lot to navigate...keep going W forever). He did time hte gas-stops perfectly, though.

I agree - the only good thing is that it is smooth and straight - good for a top speed run. But boring with a capital B - I had 100 times more fun going 60 mph on the curves in Highway 17 than 140 mph on I10..

My mothers friend (with me inside) did about c.a. 280 - 290 km/u in his Jaguar
What jag is this - I thought all Jags were restricted to 155mph worldwide - unless you went in an XJ220???

did u take what i wrote seriously ?

i thought the smiley woulda indicated i was merely saying that in jest

i speed just as much as the next man

IT WAS A JOKE (incase u didnt notice that )

oh and you dont need to tell me about the true cause of death in most road accidents as my uncle is a road traffic accident investigator so if u ever need to know anything dont hesitate to ask

theres a good Rc 45......

perhaps i shoulda worded my original post a bit more carefully i thought most woulda realised it was a joke (except there are some pedantic pricks on this forum who are a bit quick to jump the gun)

I was going to simply reply that I got the joke - hence the emoticons in my post - so take a deep breath there chap - but I have decided against that polite reply - simply because you seem like a bucket of shit.
