The 3-series is BMW's top seller. Because of this they needed to be more conservative with the controversial "bangle" flame surface design. So what they did was the worst thing possible: They simply toned it down but they didnt change it. So now what they have ended up with is a car thats both ugly AND boring!!!!! At least with the early Bangle models you might be able to call them ugly but never boring.

The new BMW 3-series says alot about people willing to buy them. BORING and UNINSPIRED.

Tragically, not only is the new 3-series exterior boring and ugly but the interior is even worse. Its outrageously bad. The older 5 and 3 series had nicely designed interiors but the latest ones, with that UGLY "double hump" look plain, cheap, ugly, and uninspired. To me, interior is just as important as exterior. I simply can't buy a car with that kind of low rent interior design. I would go so far as to describe the interior as depressing. I mean, I've seen cars for $20,000 with better interiors!!!! UGH.

Personally I think BMW has become a victim of its own success. Its been forced to become mainstream. All thier latest designs, from the 1,3,5, don't interest me in the slightest. They are overweight, overpriced, boring, ugly, underpowered (accept for the M5 and new Z4M of course) etc......... If I were to ever buy a BMW the only one I would consider for a second would be the E36 M3.

In addition when I look at what else is available in the market for the same price its almost laughable to pay that much for a 3 series............
Good post .

E46 M3 is good aswell though. Surelly E92 M3 will be too?

Wider 3 series with (hopefully) big difference in looks yelling the M badge will come.

Still a 3.0L engine. They just want further marketing differentiation.

Yeah, interesting. I think Z will need to clarify this one up. Maybe the 255hp version is for Sedan only?

I think the Z will have the 255hp version, and if im not mistaken it has. I think the Z has both engines the 230hp and the 265hp.

If they put a 3.0l with 265hp in the coupe, the turbo will produce only 35hp, that not much...

You are correct:

The Coupe will have only 328i and 335i.

The Sedan will have a 325i and 330i.

We are a current bmw coupe owner but we wont be buying another 1 mainly because we cant afford another car right now. Our children come first, a new car with an ugly face (our opinion which doesnt affect yours) just doesnt seem to fit the budget.

The side profile is awesome, however the front end is a bit odd and doesnt seem to belong anywhere with the rest of the car. To me front end of a car is like the face of a woman, if she doesnt grab my attention I'll be scanning for another one

I feel sorry for Australian BMW buyers - they are getting a raw deal and they dont even know it. The price the car dealers charge here for an M3 is the same price I could buy a Ferrari F430 with back home in USA (After Dollar Conversion). For the price of an M3 in USA you can barely afford a BMW 318i sedan here in Australia lol. Want to hear something even more funnier? Our money is worth more than their's too - I can't wait to get home
