hmmm, before anyone can correct me, or misunderstand me:
in the previous post i say: name me one reason why the db7 vantage isn't the most beautiful car on earth.
this should be: why it wouldn't be
my knowledge of english grammar doesn't extend to all those little details, but i think there is less room for discussion now.
my dear jabba. the strenght of the db7 lies in its relative discretion. compare it with women (or men, feel free to change the text):
you're walking down the street with the same people you were talking about. suddenly a tall blond, brunette, ... with long legs, a tiny little bikini, and all the bits and pieces you can wish for passes you. you and all others will ofcourse notice, and say to each other: mmmm, quite a pretty women, isn't it.
nope, that was a sexy woman, a hot woman, ...
than an on first sight absolutely normal woman passes. but when you have a good look, you see that she actually is very pretty, but not in an "erotic" way. she's got style, elegance, character, and no tiny little bikini, but maybe just a jeans and blouse. and all your colleagues won't notice, because they were still staring with their ... rather than with their eyes.
a very philosophic story, isn't it. you may find that i'm absolutely wrong, and that's your good right.
old: yes, but the vantage is way better than the old 6 cylinder db7.
boring: try looking at a german car.
uncharismatic: see the story above
there is also the fact that a lot of people (except maybe in monaco, california and the uk) don't know aston martin, or maybe just the bond cars but i can asure you, drive round in belgium in a db7 vantage volante, and everybody will notice, but in a less spectacular way then they will notice a ferrari, lamborghini, zonda, ...
dull: that's a word i reserve for, again, the germans, and the japanese, ...
mind that i was only talking about styling, not handling, performance, ...
(although the db7 gt is one of the best driver's cars)
and that would throw in another one of my favourites: the sound!
but i'll save that for another time.
i challenge you (not only you, jabba, don't feel pointed), send me a pic of a car that you think is better looking than the db7 vantage. i will rate it objectively. really!
