Well I personally can't wait to see this test! 8) I'm not too worried about the result, its Best Motoring, we all know they like the 'domestics' the most, its no secret. The preview looks fantastic and the sound of an American V8 thundering around the track is sweeet.

I watch Best Motoring for many reasons: the exotic & desirable cars they drive, the exciting bumper-to-bumper action on the track, the great camera angles (foot-work & speedo cameras), and finally the great sound capture of the cars they test. A totally un-biased opinion isn't one of the reasons, but it doesn't matter too much when you have all that other stuff...long live BMI!

My words were not against you or nth, it's just that, as you said, when the word "Corvette" appear in a thread, people can't help to start saying they are slow in corner/ fast in straight line etc ... and then you come to defend it and so on ... Bis repetitae
Exactly!!

But as expected the point was missed because some people had to get on the offensive so quickly....

Nobody can deny what we've stated, you guys will but its a hollow claim.
WTF?

YOU are the one who brought up the issue of 'conflict".

So what's to deny?

YOU are the one who decided to call it the 'Corvette" thing.

That's right YOU.

No italic insunation here.

Any chance you could fill me in on how you get them?? A link would be much appreciated! Thanx in advance.

PS. If the UK gets the Japanese home market vids then I sure as hell wouldnt mind simply ordering them from some UK site if thats what it takes...........
Theres one english site that sells BMI. But its the subbed version, not the jap version. Is the dvd in question only out in Japan? I was thinking of getting the english one.
There was a Japanese guy on eBay a while back who had everything for sale - keep an eye out for his auctions.

Not sure it's the same guy but the one I was buying mine on ebay can't sell them anymore for "legal" issues (His copies were coming from Hong Kong not Japan so I'm not sure they were copyrighted ... ).
So now the only way for me is Amazon.co.jp but it's more expensive. Yet, as the content is less interesting than before I didn't buy one since one year at least ...

so what exactly am i supposed to read with BS comments like the one below? the claim isn't hallow.

and what is your point? mine is obvious, and definately not aggressive, rude, or ignorant.

and here we go again, as soon as someone mentions Corvette....unbelievable!
What is BS about that claim? Nobody can deny that once Corvettes are mentioned it usually ends in flame war....

Nobody said anything about being "aggressive, rude, or ignorant" - not sure where that came from.

Now prove me wrong on that point, find some evidence.

EDIT: this isn't an attack on you, just a general observation on this particular subject matter.

They drove the C6 like they hated it before they even got in the thing, and proceeded to drive it with the gauges flashing and it was clearly not working right lol. They even went so far as to claim it was 'heavy', yet it weighs over 100lbs less than a base 350Z, and only 300 more than a little 4-banger S2000... So yea, I don't really expect much from the Z06 in this test to be frank.

How do you drive something like you hate it before you even get in the thing

They've said on many occansions that the 350Z is too heavy and needs to lose weight.

lol, dude...have you ever pointed a video camera at an LCD clock or a computer screen or fluorescent lights...? The backlight for the C6 gauges most likely has a frequency that makes the gauges looks like they are flickering when recorded to a video camera.

Not denying they have some obvious bias to their domestics, but still.

I meant they seemed to hate it even before they drove it, as in when they were just walking around and looking at the engine, and then when they started to drive it it was just bitching from the get-go.

As for the 350Z, I was just using it as a comparison, as it's supposed to be a Japanese sportscar, and it's only a 6-cylinder. I mean how many Japanese sportscars that aren't 4-bangers weigh ~3,150 lbs? The Supra weighed more, the Skyline weighed more, the STI weighs more, and so on. Hell, the NSX weighs nearly as much as the C6, and they have no problem with it.

And the gauges, no, there was something wrong there, it wasn't a camera (I've seen plenty of on-board videos of the C6 and none did that). I believe they mentioned something about it but I can't remember for sure.

Well - you are the one who did the whole roll eyes thing and brought it up.

Unless you are now going to deny it?
