If you take a look at the E36 bimmers around my place... I bet most of them can't go faster than 180kmh without falling into pieces

Provided it's had all the care it needs and has been warmed up properly before flooring it, I'm told these engines are nearly indestructable. So there still must be enough of them around that can do the same. In theory it should be able to manage 220+ on the speedo. I really want to witness that someday.

I agree. Above 4.000 rpm it's remarkably powerful for an engine with just 150 hp.

Bad news....
Yesterday after work I returned to my car and saw that the strip on the right rear door had come loose. As I came closer I noticed it was because someone had managed to dent it pretty badly. Of course the culprit hasn't revealed his identity. I don't even know when and where it happened exactly. You just don't see the right rear side when you step into your car. All I know is it must have happenend somewhere between tuesday evening and friday afternoon, at home or at work. I hate it when other people aren't as careful with your belongings as you are yourself and aren't man enough to confess! Fucking idiots! I'll upload some pics later.

There's a "waarborgfonds" for issues like that, where the suspect fled the scene. You might have a look into it: http://www.wbf.nl/

Indeed. I have already requested the forms. Opposed to when the insurance of the culprit could be made to pay for the damage, they don't cover all damage. The first 136 euros are to be covered by me. Still, better than everything.
I'm also going to the police station and ask around with the neighbours if one of them saw something.

BTW, not sure if it will make you feel better, but the other day something similar happened to my 320. Somebody hit it with God knows why, in the lower part of the passenger front door. There is a 2 cm wide and 1 cm high dent where picture just went away and the plastic stripe in the mid of the rear door was moved forward 3 or 4 cm ence detached from its "rail"...
The dent will rust for sure if nothing is done, and IMO my car starts to be too crappy to spend lot of money for such jobs

Well, not really for tomorrow maybe, but I am already in the phase where you don't want to invest any more money in your car :bah:

Don't you hate it when that happens? To be honest, that fact that your car was also damaged doesn't make me feel better.
I will try to buff it out myself first, but the scratches need to be dealt with as well. Like you said, it will rustif I don't. The car's got two other damaged spots that I want to have sorted out. Although the car's not worth a great deal, I do want to have it repaired to at least maintain value as I expect to hold on to it for a while. Once rust seriously commences, it's not long before the whole door looks like shit.
I'm curious too. What are you thinking about replacing the 320i with?

Yes, I hate it even if my car isn't really in perfect shape
As for the new car, well, when it will happen, hopefully soon, I am aiming at either a full black Mini Cooper S (Works possibly), either a full black Alfa 159, but might change my mind once closer to the decision
