I had to go through all the voice recognition bullshit this summer after I got repetitive strain in both wrists (8+ hours computer stuff at job plus regular stuff when I got home was overdoing I guess hah). I didn't expect it at all until it came on strong. It sucked but after taking a break for about two months and making some changes (ergonomics, stretching if I know I'm typing for a while) I'm pretty much better. Still, it sucks that you have to go into surgery. Unfortunately it may be up to six months until you can really get back into things. Good luck with everything.

Urgh! This sucks to see, Jabba!

I did have a friend that went through some ops for CPS, and if it does make you feel better, he did recover, like maalox did. Of course, since he was a net addict, keeping him away from the keyboard for the 3 months was a nasty business. It's unbelievable the extents his wife went to keep him away from the keyboard....

No, not THAT. Dirty people....

Sorry to hear you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. From a medical point of view (I study medicine) quite a lot of people have had it. Did you have surgery for it yet? They cut a ligament, which is a sort of strap around your wrist. The strap presses on your nerves and that's why your fingers tingle. The operation is fairly easy and complications are slim. The only setback is that it can come back, but in most of the situations it doesn't. Anyway I wish you all the best and if you want info you can't get from the internet just ask. Good luck!

This is bad news Jabba. It's one those things that makes one realise all the things we take for granted. I hope your surgery will go well and that you recover soon. Good to see that it won't stop you from "post whoring" here! That Dragon software sounds nice (can it scroll down internet pages as well?). Maybe it's something for me too, because sometimes I can feel a little pain in my shoulder when I've been checking JW out. It doesn't stop me from visiting this site all the time though.
