actually 11.2 secs @ 133.9 mph

i didn't say 11 secs dead i meant in the 11s and if you saw the article of enzo vs. CGT vs. ford gt u'll see that the CGT was .1 slower than the enzo and the ford gt was .1 slower than the CGT. plus racing slicks isn't everything its a 6 gear car that would have to be changed. 4 gears, readjust gear ratios, readjust supercharger, add drag racing back tires, set car for acceleration except top speed 200+mph isn't gonna help you unless you do 6s and 7s. theres numberless amount of work you would have to do and that powerband would boost it infront of the enzo in a drag race.

What a lot of people don't take into account is the width of the powerband, and the power curve in general. And the comparisant of the Ford GT w/these other two cars is a typical example of what I'm talking about. The Ford has a twin screw type S/Cer which yields a very broad RPM range of power. So the Ford GT engine is going to make more HP at both the midrange RPM and the low RPM levels. You can't just pay attention to peak HP numbers. That only tells a small part of the story. There's a guy on the marauder board who's car is making 76 more PEAK HP at the wheels than my Marauder is, however, our ET's are only one tenth of a second apart since he has a centrifugal S/Cer, and I have a roots S/cer. So my car is making more low end power than his, and atleast as much (if not more) midrange power. And it isn't peak HP that gets your car down the track. So that's just one of the reasons why I much rather have the Ford GT than those other two cars. It would be more fun to drive since it offers more useable power on the street.

Very true. I know that the GT isn't intended to be a quartermile car, but since this thread is dealing w/an 11.2 second pass laid down by a stock GT, then I'll make mention of the fact that this car comes with 3.36 gears in the rear. I don't know what rear ends the car comes with. Something tells me it isn't the Ford 8.8" rear. But if there are ring & pinion gear sets available for whatever rear it does have, then I'm sure that if you were to install a set of 3.70 gears, the car would still easily top out at 180 MPH, while at the same time it would then get into the 10's on the dragstrip. Being a mid-engine car, I'm sure that it's cabable of a 1.3, or 1.4 second 60' time, because of the increased traction that a mid-engine design affords.

OK...well "setting it up" as a drag car, i.e. changing the supercharger boost, modifying the gear-ratios, changing the gearbox, changing the rear end, changing the tires, and oh, maybe adding a pair of sissy bars, roll cage and stripping out the passenger seat and all the sound deadening, replacing the body with Carbonfiber etc...etc...yes, sure it could break into the 8's or 9's...but the way your post made it sound, I would never have guessed you were talking abuot that sort of vast amount of modifications. Under those circumstances almost any car on the market could break into the 8's or 9's given enough work and enough money.

LMAO!!!
the GT is no enzo, and the enzo could likely break into the 10 second range if it didnt have such tight rear suspension.

the GT is a fast car, but we are talking about comparing it to the Enzo? two different realms there.

with slicks on, i imagine the GT could cut its 0-60 time by about 1/2 a second, and that half second is all that would be gained in the 1/4 mile... so with slicks, i think 11.2 is achievable with everything else layed stock.

the enzo doesn't have the powerband.

The Enzo doesn't have the same shape plateau in the powerband that the GT certainly does, but the Enzo's engine definetely produces more power and its torque curve is about as flat as you could expect a highly-stressed V12 to be. It is quite flat and the engine not only revs faster, but higher and over a broader rev-range.
