Hum it looks nice !! Promising to be a Porsche in the best tradition, i just hope it will not be heavier than the 996 because increasing power to compensate weight is not really the good way for Porsche (in my opinion).

Yes, the present Techart version was 648 bhp and 870 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 3.7s and 341 km/h.
The torque : 940 Nm  ,the transmission will need some "help" for sure.
The performances are in the Mclaren league but they must be verified.
Thank you st-anger.

it´ll appear in march, so no infos on that...
but as you might´ve written in "Porsche news" i´ve some good ties to mr.fatthauer, owner of Porsche tuner 9ff and he "gave me a lift" in one of his cars, a GT2 with the G-5 ( FM96G- 5 ) engine tuning kit, power output 700hp+...
he couldn´t push hard due to traffic but only the acceleration´s been amazing, 0-60 in under 4sec 0-124 in around 10sec, definitely a fun machine...
here´s a pic how the car looks like, plz note that that pic do not show the car mentioned above this one´s taken ( i believe ) at Spa...

That pic is most definately spa, cus i spent a whole weekend, runnin over that very spot, between the GT pitlane, and the Formula Palmer Audi awnings ,that were just infront of where the porsche is parked!!
Spa is unbelievable, rode round it, and its an amazing track, just the weather is the most temperamental i have ever ever come accross!!!!! And u cant see it coming over the hills, so its pure guess work!!
Sorry, bit off topic!
So u do much stress, vibrations analysis on ur engine tests st-anger, or is it mostly the tuning of the engine performance, that u r involved in??

…sorry for beeing very late with my answer, but i´ve been a bit busy lately (…business as usual )
as you can imagine it´s mainly reliability tests including the test you mentioned, as you know Porsche engines are well known for their reliability even under the worst conditions and we´d like to keep that…
it´s useless to push it to ~600hp or so, which´d be easily within reach, but when the problems are getting more and more it´s common to de-tune the engine, so we´ll have to find a good compromise, that´s why I posted that we also had to buy some new AVL equipment, to make sure that we can record every possible data from the engine.
the fact that i´m so busy all the time is easily explained: i´m more or less involved in all the fields of that development, of course there´re several teams like engine test rig ppl, a testing team, some ppl for administration, …
my main tasks so far´d been to collect any information about the engine and driveline system and to work some plans out with a small group of ppl that are all in charge of a division and to discuss all the tech. features, that´s why i´ve mainly been in Leipzig at the Cayenne assembly facility lately. during development i´ve been working mainly with the driveline team, which is co-operating and closely connected with the engine division, so I got a very good insight in all the driving dynamics divisions, and of course the testing on our proving grounds has been a very improtant task, and definitely fun too
i´m definitely looking forward to spring, when NS is opened again for industry pool so we´ll be able to test everything out on the NS as well…
...very nice working place we are having here at Porsche btw...

^^ Very impressive workplace! I dream of working in a place like that one day!! Do you need to have speciaist qualifications in mechatronics to work in the testing side of production? As i would like to go into the testing side more than the design. I would really enjoy testing and developing new engines, drivetrain components etc, would you say you use much of the mathematics you qualified with?
Cheers 4 ur time as always!

I'd like to drive the CGT even without the body, the carbon fibre chassis is so sexy, and seeing the wheels and the suspentions working while I'm driving must be incredible.
However, how about the drivebility of the GT2 with so much power? there aren't Turbo-lag problems, or the car is too extreme to have fun in a public road, or the chassis can manage so much power eve if in stock form the car has less than 500bhp?
