Well kids, im back!!!

The holiday was really really good. One of the most enjoyable holidays ive had. Some amazing memories of the firework show in majorca, and some really nice sights seen in all the places visited on the cruise. We went to Civitavecchia and caught a train to rome (which involved a very funny incident) and saw the coliseum etc, then onto La spezia, where we once again got a train along the coast to a region calle le cinque terre, which has 5 beautiful little villages all along the coast, where the houses are all painted red and yellow or orange - proper picture postcard stuff. After that was marseille, which is a nice place, but slightly dirty - no one seems to bother to have cleered up anything. after marseille was sete, where we were hoping to catch a train to perpignon, but that all went to pot, so we bumbled around sete for a few hours, which turned out to be a nice french village anyway. Finally we went to tarragona in Spain, where we caught a train to barcelona, which i have to say out of all the places we visited was by far and away the nicest. rome was good, but barcelona was just sooo nice. everything was clean, ven on the little side streets not intended for tourists eyes. I only realised when i was coming out of the underground station in the place de catalunia that this is where dani_d_mas lives! he is very lucky to live in such a nice part of the world.

On a side note, our family has a sort of running tradition/challenge which is to have a mcdonalds in all the famous places of the world - we managed to tick rome and barcelona of the list! Which can be added to geneva and time square, new york! Its kinda sad, but also pretty funny that even in places steeped in ancient history like rome, you can still get yourself a slice of american unhealthiness!

Pictures & videos of the trip will be uploaded at some point in the holidays section.

BTW, I also try to go as many McDonald's as I can in special places: my favourites are the Zermatt one, one next to the World Trade Center with pianist included (I don't know if it exists anymore)... and one in Beijing, said to be the biggest McDonald's in the World!
LOL, well i ithnk time square is probably the best one for me, with chamonix coming a close second - you can sit eating your burger and look up to see the talest mountain in europe - Mt Blanc - very cool.
