Another strage thing, the Fiat has a 1.6 and isn't that light, the EVO has a 2.0 Turbo. So even with the turbo lag, shouldn't the 2.0 outrun the 1.6. And it's not like it takes so long for any car to get into the good rev range... This is fake for sure! You can argue about the Murci vs EVO but this is just impossible.
i think it's also to do with the gear ratio's
the fiat woulden't drive more then say 75miles an hour.
the evo is capeable of 135miles? the evo is equiped with short close ratio's for blistering acceleration (maybee it has been made more wider for the version with 400bhp) and the final ratio is designed for cruzing im guessing.

anyway, i think that a massive fucking turbo that the gearbox has been adjusted for is basicley the main cause..

and i also think it was a stupid point to make, i dien't see clarkson reverseparking a enzo..

Yep, got your point. I can be mistaken of course, it just seemed very weird.

Funny I test drove a WRX (not the STI, just the 225hp) some time ago and did exactly the same thing; foot to the floor in 5th at 30mph to see how it pulled from low revs, there really was just nothing there at all...

I'm not slagging off the WRX, as it's a great car, but as someone else pointed out, you don't buy a car like that to drive it at 30mph in top everywhere.

Now in the Trans Am... will pull from 850rpm in 6th gear and will take you from about 30-35 to 170 (ish). Unfortunately, that's not the only thing the Pontiac has in common with a tractor!
