To my knowledge, the new M5 is only currently being made with a 7 Speed SMG? You are referring to the new one, right?

The US Market is being offered a conventional 6 Speed Manual.

im sure the beautiful sound of the V10 roaring at the 8250rpm limit would make up for the extra weight..

After thinking about it, why is everyone praising BMW??
All they have made is a German Viper.
I mean it's a 500hp 10 cylinder rag top... right?
What's so new about that? BMW is over a decade late to the V10 Roadster party...
Yet another example of the Europeans copying the Amricans - except they forgot to give the BMW killer looks like the Viper.

because the "German Viper" can also take corners.. and get decent gas mileage
oh yea, the M6 doesnt give you 3rd degree burns as you step out the door either..

the coupe version is enough, but i admit it would be nice to drop the top and listen to that V10 but there are already enough powerful cabrios to choose from in the market.
