^^^ It is not actually that unusual for special option engines to caryy stupid prices - and then if you try purchase some of the components as upgrades they add even more stupid prices.
Just look at the ZR1 engine

Yeah, but I wonder if the LT5 in the ZR1 could boast a set of $2000 conrods, $2000 crankshaft, $3000 crank case, $70 valves, $2000 radiators and $3000 exhausts... $1000 cylinder heads, $500 cylinder head covers, ... and the list goes one... (this is all the stock HRC parts... HRC race parts were each about 5 to 10 x more...   )

Now I remember why I originaly bought the RC45 - super exotic craftmanship of super exotic material and super rare - I also now remember that's why I sold it...

I guess at least a car with these qualities can be used a hell of lot more than a bike.

FINALLY took my camera with me today and got some shots with the Z8 after work. Forgive the shitty exposure as i was having issues getting the right setting.

I couldn't get the key to it since it's with the saleslady who sold it had it and wasn't around, so you'll have to settle for the through the window shot for the interior.

and here's a couple shots i took of the Z8 while playing with my limited manual options
